i dont know, while reading the pitchfork review i had to stop and check who the author was because it seemed uncharacteristically good?
good music writing makes me want to re-listen from a new perspective. it can sometimes feel like a key to decipher their more difficult work.

ie. what sounds like a submarine crumpling beneath sea pressure, they unleash a single chord that stands among the most beautiful sounds they have created in 29 years.

Philip Sherburne is alright.

Don't necessarily agree with his take on more recent Autechre, the review of the album is p on point for most part. Goes a bit wild with the thesaurus.

Prefer Nos' Pitchfork review of NTS, got the feeling he really knew where he was coming from.

LP came today!! i feel silly bc i already listened to the FLACs today, but i happened to start with F7 earlier and now i'm breezing along the M4 Lema highway ???? indescribable.

current tally -

M4 Lema, F7, Metaz form8, sch.mefd2, R cast - instant hits already in my god-tier favourites

esc desc, gr4, th red a, psin AM - liking these songs, growing on me

si00, au14 - not clicked, kind of annoying. but everyone in the autechre.ws chat called au14 "penis music" which was awesome.

Vinyl and CD have arrived, I am at work so will be vinyl spinning tonight.

The cover is really vibrant - more so than I anticipated.  It's kinda almost luminous. Which is rather fitting given he music we have.

So, raspberries to all the artwork haters

"Metaz form8" is a melodic first degree relative of "Bronchusevnmx24". I don't have my tools with me but, depending on the key, the two could be crossfaded into an epic celebration of mechanical gloom. I searched the thread to see if anyone else had picked up on that but I didn't see anything.

i rest my case...

if you're using a Pitchfork review to bolster your argument

you're probably making a silly argument

because Pitchfork is worthless trash and has been for many many years.
