Imagine being a grown man and buying it.

I doubt AFX has a lot of fans that are not grown men these days.

idk looks like you like it to me  🙂

People are so fucking weird to complain.  It's an instrument, not a record...Buy it if you're a musician and you like it.  Don't buy it if you're not.  The Bassstation 2 was already a well regarded sy

Oh it just showed up for preorder on Blerp now.

$549.99, yeah that's gonna be a no. Was hoping t would just be same price as BS2.

It's $459 on the focusrite store, I really want to know why there is a $110 difference?

Also, I think the price is pretty good for what it is

Jokes aside he got a lot of young fans from what I can see on the AFX reddit.

Now I kinda want to buy a Bass Station, but not with this ugly design and artist logo (and I do like Aphex Twin). Does the original one with the latest firmware have the same functions?

Aside from the different labels, isn't there literally one unique function, the extended sub osc?

Novation AFX Station is the perfect combination of digital control with incredible analogue synthesis inside an already phenomenal, classic modern monosynth: Bass Station II. AFX Station packs all the same features and Bass Station II, including two oscillators, a multimode filter, amp and filter modulation, step sequencing and an arpeggiator. It also comes pre-installed with firmware v4.14, which adds new functionality including fixed-duration envelopes, extended sub oscillator controls, oscillator glide diverge, and the much-acclaimed AFX Mode.

So I guess it's just new firmware?

Actually now I’m reading it again I think it’s all just new firmware features which will work on the original.

Well apparently so, sold like hot cakes.

And I was debating whether I could afford to buy a 12" if one was announced today 😄

So what’s the mystery Warp record?

I feel as though my brain is being sliced and diced into all kinds of different directions. What the fuck is going on?

I thought everyone was slapping everyone on the back about a new Aphex EP? No EP?

So super sleuth what’s the mystery?

Rome Track pls

Japanese promo where you buy certain releases and collect tokens and cash them in for a Warp 2021 calendar. On the releases there was one with ? on it. Polygon WIndow re-release was one of the releases that had Quoth EP tracks added to it. There's some thread somewhere on WATMM about it.

It seems to be the same price as a BSII, so it's probably worth it for the better labelling if you're looking to buy a new one. I'll get one when people aren't panic buying so they can resell immediately.

secret guy told me that you have to buy the thing and press in secret key combos to play the new afx ep.

I wouldn’t be entirely surprised lol if that was an actual thing

I really want to ask, is that Richard singing? I would like to know, and what you think about this peculiar song!
      Greetings.

Coming soon on ROHS! RECORDS (4th December 2020)
      https://rohsrecords.bandcamp.com
NEW NOYZELAB Album "CPMSubtree" audio will follow soon

Noyzelab is David Burraston - or is it that David Burraston is Noyzelab? After experiencing the man's work, you may not be able to tell the difference. Noyzelab's debut at ROHS! is a surrounding and otherworldly album called CPMSubtree, made up of five surreal displays of studio electronics that elasticize the album's forty-minute runtime into unfathomable stretches of displacement.
Currently residing in Australia, Burraston has spent many years refining his focus in many different departments - lectures and residencies around the world, collaborations with Aphex Twin, Chris Watson, Oren Ambarchi and Russell Haswell, recordings published at Important Records, Taiga, .MEDS, Cataclyst and Psoma Psi Phi, and installations assembled in dozens of indoor and outdoor spaces. He has built his own synthesizers and has written his PhD thesis on Generative Music & Cellular Automata, working to explore and document his research with generative systems, computing and all kinds of synthesis. On top of all of these things, he's often found with portable recording rigs, doing field recording to capture exotic and interesting atmospheres.
CPMSubtree is, at least in name, a follow-up to TTMSubtree, a cassette issued at Psoma Psi Phi in 2017, although the sounds presented here are wholly unique, in their own macroverse of existence. When listening to Burraston's music, you can never be quite sure what it is you're hearing or feeling - is that a sinewave, or feedback? Are those bells or a DX7? Is that a gust of Cootamundra wind on the mic, or algorithmically processed white noise? Are we frozen in space while otherworldly spectrums of color billow around us at light speed, or are we being poured down a waterfall, one molecule at a time, to coalesce into a pool of pulsing fluorescence? You might ask yourself any or all of these questions - but Noyzelab does not provide any answers. This is a one-way trip that you can't come back from, so proceed at your own discretion! For those of us eager to map the frontier of new and stimulating electronic music, the unknown has never been quite so rewarding.
NOTE: Noyzelab recordings utilize the full breadth of the frequency spectrum, and as such, are best experienced with either headphones or speaker systems that can yield very high and very low frequencies without issue. Lossless file formats are also encouraged, to minimize the reduction of these frequencies and their presence within the recordings.

      Hi,
I have a complete Analord binder (binder and records in mint condition) that I’ve owned from new since release. The binder was ordered direct via Rephlex’s website and the records from bleep.com as they were released. I haven’t played them and they’ve been in storage since buying. I’m getting more into buying synths/hardware and making my own music now and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a swap for their old/unwanted synth hardware.
Ideally, and maybe in my dream world 🙂 ,I’d like a Roland JX3P or SH101, but would consider any sensible offers of analogue or digital gear. Also I live in England near to Folkestone in Kent so would prefer to trade with someone in London/South East so we could physically meet and exchange the items.
If this of interest to anyone then drop me a message. Can provide pics etc to confirm condition.
