Ex Machina was basically a good episode of Black Mirror, no?

saw 1.5 art next?
Sorry, but I can't get enough of those 3D mask renders...
Thanks, love these.

Kinda off-topic, but does anyone know their way around iTunes enough to help a brother out?
I've got the entire Soundcloud collection in my library and I've made a playlist of all my favourite tracks, but for some reason, everything that isn't in a playlist has been greyed out. After I've listened to a 'grey' track, it immediately starts playing the black ones. It's a bit annoying 'cos sometimes I wanna listen to the whole thing without going back to iTunes after every track, and other times I just wanna indulge in the best shit, so I don't really want to delete the playlist either. Any ideas?
Hopefully this picture explains everything a little better...
I could've sworn the 'user' account had way more followers than the official one a couple of weeks back.
It's possible you "un-checked" the greyed out trax. Switch to song view and make sure there's a check mark by every track...
Ah man, you're a saviour. Worked like a charm!
No idea how I unchecked them in the first place haha
Cheers!

Vampire's Kiss. Every scene was gold
Nic Cage/10
I honestly think this is one of Nic's best.
it is, mainly because it's also one of the best surreal dark comedies ever made.
I don't think the director intended it to be a dark comedy (I think he had no idea what he was doing) but it turned into this giant WTF with Nicolas Cage as the actor.
this commentary says it all
interesting because the writer, joseph minion, also wrote 'after hours' which is the only good scorsese comedy (i think kings of comedy was considered a terrible movie). also one of the producers (besides the writers at the time girlfriend) was barry shils who lives just a few blocks away from me :)
King of Comedy isn't a comedy.

Paperhouse is one of the first films of Bernard Rose, one of my favourite filmmakers. Really makes film as if a lens over fantastical human lives.
Ivans XTC, Boxing Day and Kreutzer Sonata all have Danny Huston in playing as lead. Watch his films over and over again.
Paperhouse is a truly outstanding film and Candyman is great too. Are all his other films worth checking out?

greatest event ever in music imo
This has my vote
And mine. Possibly the most significant event in Aphex's career?

The Theory of Everything 9/10
My appreciation of James Marsh continues. Quite simply the best director in Britain, Shadow Dancer was very under-rated.
Shadow Dancer was really good, also really like The King. Marsh is hugely underrated, IMO.

Interesting tidbit from the recent Aphex Twin Groove interview:
19. Gernot Bronsert (Moderat): Who is “Rubber Johnny”?
“Chris Cunningham – who did the video – should answer that question. But it’s him who’s playing the guy in the wheelchair. I would like to work with him again, but he lives in Los Angeles now. I’ve talked to him several times, so there might be something happening. I remember him telling me he does a zombie film and then he decided not to release it, cause there was another zombie film coming out. I think he’s too sensitive.”

Watched Withnail & I again last night. One of the best British films ever, and maybe the best British film of the 80s?
nightcrawler was really good
also recently enjoyed this.

More interviews, most of which have been taken from the web.
Unfortunately all the links on the old dfile press page seem to 404.

got a little carried away with the "n"s in the title.
There's already a good site that sums up Chris' body of work:
http://www.director-file.com/cunningham/
That site (which was great) hasn't been updated in over a year, as far as I can tell?

Big fan of Cunningham's work, and would love to see information about it from across the subforums centralized here. I have several interviews scoured from the web over the years that I will post here shortly.
Another Man magazine's latest issue (A/W 2014) has a new interview and notes that a new work is "on the brink of release." Their website includes this excellent playlist of selections by Cunningham.
Also, to tie in with the recent Star Wars teaser, here's Cunningham's visual remix of Empire Strikes Back:- 1
