Sean and Rob of Autechre have graciously agreed to subject themselves to you, the Autechre fans for a "ask anything" - you'll have until 7 November, 2013 to post your questions here in this thread, and Sean and Rob will choose which posts to respond to - try to ask interesting and respectful questions, and a HUGE thanks to Sean and Rob for supporting WATMM, and keeping in touch with their fans. We're really fortunate to have great electronic musicians with a long history of making cutting-edge electronic music here among us!

When was the last time you played YJY UX for someone? Sent someone Garbagemx36? Think about it. Play M4 Lema at a place. People deserve to know.

Please think this thru before you voting because it is difficult to choose. 2 amazing albums in their own way. Which one do you prefer as a whole solid and good Autechre album? And why? Shoot! 👌

I don't mean to look a gift horse in the mouth because I am loving what we've been hearing from the twentytwentytwo tour, and yet... Bull Wallet, Kiosk, ... what lies on the other side of SIGN and PLUS, if anything? I'm not so sure another album, EP, or single, honestly. After naming a bonus track "key osc" after Kiosk, and more recently the twin fourteenth albums and their names being both a reference to signed number representations, definitively lampshading our Ae-fan joke "sean pls", and a recent comment Sean made in the AMA, I'm inclined to think there will not be any such thing, at least not any time soon. (I know, sort of a bummer and ridiculous to start this threa…

Since the RDJ thread is such a pisstake, thought it would be fun to start an Ae thread to pass the time in between new albums. Plus I just ran across this funny image of Rob on Facebook, post away!

So I have been pretty much exclusively listening to the following few artists: Autechre, BoC, Plaid, Bonobo, Squarepusher and Clark I'm looking for something more in the vein of Ae/Clark style music. I'm NOT looking for anything with vocals, and I much prefer synth over real recorded instruments. Any good suggestions? Thx all

Does anybody know what visualizer was used in this YouTube video? It's fairly simple, but I quite like how it fits the track. Would love to see a higher quality version of the video or find a way to re-create it. Some people have asked in the comments, but the responses seem to have disappeared. (It's a fairly old upload.) I know this might be a long shot, but if there's anyone that might know, they're probably hanging around here...

Just a random brainstorming shitpost thread for what seems likely given interview mentions and stuff. They can apparently "create an album in realtime". This implies some really slick interface where they can modify parameters and maybe modify the way in which parameters modify other parameters because there is way too much stuff going on for everything to be manually handled by them at once obviously But how much is manually sequenced ahead of time by hand, how much is sequenced in realtime through hitting physical pads, how much is triggered by other events? Is anything triggered by really abstract events? Some speculations of mine are that there is an…
