Sean and Rob of Autechre have graciously agreed to subject themselves to you, the Autechre fans for a "ask anything" - you'll have until 7 November, 2013 to post your questions here in this thread, and Sean and Rob will choose which posts to respond to - try to ask interesting and respectful questions, and a HUGE thanks to Sean and Rob for supporting WATMM, and keeping in touch with their fans. We're really fortunate to have great electronic musicians with a long history of making cutting-edge electronic music here among us!

So I have been pretty much exclusively listening to the following few artists: Autechre, BoC, Plaid, Bonobo, Squarepusher and Clark I'm looking for something more in the vein of Ae/Clark style music. I'm NOT looking for anything with vocals, and I much prefer synth over real recorded instruments. Any good suggestions? Thx all

Triggered (not like that) by the recent AMA where Sean talked about making Parhelic Triangle with elastic bands and a shoebox (! - but also - of course) I found this video on YouTube. Hadn't seen it mentioned before so I thought I'd bring it to attention (did a cursory search and nothing popped up immediately on here). It's a pretty great visualisation IMO, I watched it just before sleep in the dark and it did a nice number on me 'ed.

Seriously... does anyone know who made this? afaik its a fan made thing? One of my favorite music videos of all time and I cant believe someone just whipped this up out of nowhere... Some of my favorite bits is that tunnel like thing in the middle that keeps rotating with the beats, and at 2:16 when the thick lines start to distort with the swirling noise, and then the thin white lines appear in the background in sync with the drums. Pretty mad how someone captured the essence of an Ae track like this

Kind of obnoxious to start a thread with this question, but I've attempted searching the forums, and I remember this having been talked about a while back (probably a couple of years ago). I thought it was Helena Hauff, but perhaps not. Anyone recall?

Many people say, newbound is the weakest track for them on L-event; I say: Hmmm. Maybe. I think it's a typical outro track. The descending synth melody with looooong reverb being somewhat typical for an Ae outro. That kind of "laser beats" (someone else wrote this) is at least interesting. I need further listens.

Hi all. I watched lots of time documentary movie about Techno music, created by French/German television ''Arte''. As I know movie calls ''Universal Techno''. I don't know why, but always in my head is minds like... ...if here is so many fans of ''Autechre'', than probably most of people probably know about what movie I talk about, cause there also was some scenes about ''Autechre''. https://touched.bandcamp.com/track/twels I think this is the (possible) Autechre track on the new Touched comp. What do you think? Some people think it's track 3. Do you agree and why?

I'm a stickler for organization so I'm wondering what you consider the proper EP list. AFAIK there was a bit of confusion because EP7 is actually the 8th or 9th depending on if you count Basscad and/or Cavity Job. Personally I considered Anti the first proper EP and EP7 would then be the 7th EP, Cavity Job can be considered a single and Basscad isn't proper since it's remixes. But both cavity and basscad are included in the EPs 1991-2002 Boxset? I'm sure this has been talked about before but I haven't really given it that much thought until now when I'm organizing folders on disk.
