  1. the build-up after the collapse in t69 is the best part in the whole track. the durichroma version loses the pacing imo

    ?

I think the durichroma mix is perfect. The transitions are better and the little bonus acapella plinky plonky bit is lovely. Also makes for a better contrast when the rhythmic thumpy bit kicks in and all the little hairy fellas on the back of me neck start their tingly parade

Also, I'm either going mad, or I'm onto something - I was listening to the EP (again) this morning on the way to work, and I *swear* I hear an Autechre-style sound (can't recall which track) at around 2:12 in 1st 44 that made me think I've heard this before.

Perhaps you mean the live recording at Quirky?
Sorry, not sure what you're referring to?
I mean the droning sound throughout the second track of Quirky, Brixton. There's also some ending bit of Kalpol Introl there. Or do you mean something else?

No, this is a "classic" Autechre sound, from the Amber days... I need to sit down and listen and think about which AE track the sound I hear appears in... I need Google search for my thoughts!

    Howerya joyrex.

I think I know what you mean.

Are you referring the opening of teartear by autechre?

  3.

Durichroma mix is so great, super glad to wake up to that surprise.

Ok, i mean the original track is great, but what is even the difference with this mix.  Very slightly longer end section?  I got all excited for an alt mix of sorts but this is 95% the same track.  Someone enlighten me if i'm wrong

    Your options:

1: listen to it more betterer. Pay attention.

2: try nicer headphones. Better headphones.

3: maybe you don't like it that much

  4. yeh there are subtle changes on cheetah 7b. not sure what exactly but start of song for example has high hats right off the bat. its a tiny detail but they're there, they help establish a groove real quick and duck out before you can maybe even catch em. tiny detail but its a rad little difference...

Yup. I'm with you on that one.

I'm particularly impressed with the opener, CHEETAHT2 [Ld spectrum]. When I'm listening to the first 1:30 or so i can hear a lot of detail and deliberate positioning and movement of sounds. Those claps that come in around 42 even.

Even as i type this im up to the 3 minute mark and just realising new sounds and riffs are still being introduced.

    I'm going full fanboy here.

  5. I'm eating my hat here a little bit because I posted earlier that I wasn't really into this. I've got my sehnhesiers on and have been giving this EP a dedicated listen. It's great. There's lots going on in the spatial domain and lots of other subtle things keeping it interesting beyond the apparent sum of it's parts from a casual first listen.

  6. Got it!.

No [Mastered] label on my mp3s

Ha! This sounds great actually! Much better then the stream. No question.

  7. Oh - i meant it genuinley. Like how cool it would be to have a room full of audio equipment. Select a drum machine, sequencer, and synth. Experiment for the day and see what you come up with. Living the dream!

  8. Atari st Midi sequencer - that works. It must be great to have so many machines richard that you can select 3 arbitrarily and see what track you can make

  9. Ive listened to the stream a bunch of times now. No. I don't really like this EP poysanally.

Maybe it will grow on me...

Ill go back to refining my Analords favourites playlist. And my user1234whatevs favourites playlist
