    Let the records show, I ran some youtube copyright ID numbers on the NTS biz last week when it was little more than a radio broadcast, and not as we now know it to be as part 1 of 'NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL'TECHRE VOL. 1-4'. Pootube copycocked it within minutes, and the strike was noted as infringing on 'NTS Residency - Autechre'. Curiously, it wasn't for the whole duration of the recording, but only for the duration of... bqbqbq.

    Well everyone knows this is brand new Autechre

    But what YouTube pre-supposes is... what if it isn’t??

    Is it stupid to buy vinylz if I don't have a record player right now but plan to get one in about 4 years time when I can afford a house/man cave? sun&rahb pls.

    I'm going through the exact same struggle this morning.  It seems like a dumb purchase since I don't have a player (yet), but I want them and I literally want to throw my money at them.  Hard.  I want to hurl cash into their faces.

    A huge Autechre fan since 1997. :happy: (also love Oval/Markus Popp, Snd/Mark Fell, Scsi-9, The Field, Dither, Zomby's debuts, DMX Krew, Bochum Welt, Fizzarum, Phon.O, Kraftwerk, Bjork, Klaus Schulze, Patric Catani, Snakefinger, Rhythm & Sound, Sofa Surfers, etc...)

    i will go ahead and say that from exai onward is maybe my least favourite autechre period in terms of sound design. it will probably click in a couple years but... life is busy, man. i'll follow autechre into the deepest reaches of space, but elseq is not sinking in. :-/

    I once was lost, just like you.  

     

    Then I went to the Mezzanine show last year and this moment (https://youtu.be/rS735UpeIbw?t=18m55s)  at 18:59 happened and it was like an audible beam of light (the Voice of God, I'm pretty sure, but God in the form of a locust) blasting into my face and it split every fiber of my being in half.  Now I see your post, reflect on that moment, and shake my head, oh sweet child of summer...

    I hope my reply to you did not seem disrespectful.  I just want you to get your face sandblasted off by elseq, and I mean that in the most caring way.
