does the job offer involve further training opportunities, ability to move up. Have you thought of what you want to do the phd in, will this help you get work also. nwae, sounds like things are working out fine either way.
the job offer does provide some training, but it's a small start-up... which at least has been around for 6 years now. I also think it would give me many opportunities afterwards, as it's mostly going to be data analysis of various biological data sets and questions.
The phd does offer that as well, but for a lower salary...then again it has a much better training and (possibly) better job opportunities afterwards, plus the group is reasonably well-known, with publications in higher ranking journals etc...

4 days without coffee... decided to take a week off now that I'm done with classes for good and spent the first days with a gigantic headache. Now that I'm over this phase I just feel worn out. *whine*

On the whole mayo/ketchup debate going on here, most germans eat their fries with only ketchup afaik. Some like to mix and call it rot-weiß (red-white) or even put some mustard in there (rot-gelb), which I'm not a big fan of...
not sure who eat the above stuff though. My (american-) wife only eats her fries with mayo, not sure if she picked up on that over here though...

Decided to finish the classes of my masters program in 2 instead of 3 semesters. I have three more weeks of ~60h/week work/classes/homework/exams which has been going on for about 6 months now, so I can spend a whole year on my master thesis + internship. Can't wait to be done, urgh.

I like the fact that they kept M Nights Name out of the advertisment as much as possible.the face on the cover is basically how these 2 spend the entire film. everyone keeps blaming it's failure and abysmal plot (and acting) on m night shamaylananananalyana'ya but the story was actually written by will smith- so focus your malice and criticism on him

I am sorry your first shit in your new appartement was overshadowed by such an incident. It is truly a special moment and shouldn't be spoiled like this. Luckily I didn't have to deal with anything in the bathroom, but the previous tenants tried to hand us a fucking mess after they moved all of their stuff out. Food stuck on the stove/counters, garbage on the floor of every room and one greasy kitchen .. I hadn't signed the agreement yet, so I made them clean for an hour before they took off.
Achievement of this week: Bought freshly roasted espresso beans from a local store, now I've been smelling them and drinking coffee constantly.

thanks! hopefully I can make up my mind this week..
Yeah normally I would, but baby is on its way (due end of october) and a bigger salary would be nice... the phd salary + my wives maternity leave would be enough for 2 years, unsure though what it'll look like in the 3rd year. I could also do my Phd in industry with a better payment, but it's unclear if it'll happen at all and unlikely before October... not sure if I wanna take that risk.
