  1. No offense to you PSN personally because I know this term has been circulating a bit, but is there really such as thing as "semi official" isn't either official or not? I didn't think there was a gray area when it comes to officiality. J

I would imagine some situations where a release would be considered semi-official would be where you have a band or group with two or more members and only some of them gave their approval. Or out of multiple rights holders, only at least one giving the okay. "Semi-official anything" might apply in this case only as far as the fact that it's both Richard and Rephlex who own rights to these recordings (as far as I know) so if anything was done without the permission of one of them, it would be considered semi-official. Not that that's ever happened or would be the case here. As for the cover artwork and the whole thing Joyrex is doing, I would consider it unofficial unless Richard/Rephlex give their blessings.

Well the analords were like 15 bucks a pop and they ran 2500 of them I think. Accounting for printing and distribution or whatever he probably got less than 50k for each.

And that's assuming all 2500 of each run were sold - I'd venture to guess there are unsold copies sitting at Rephlex HQ...

    What makes you say that?

Almost any label has extra copies lying around... look at the Analord binder and the few who had issues - as a way of saying sorry, Rephlex included copies of Analogue Bubblebath 5 (!!) test pressings in with the binders - surely you don't think they had new test pressings made up (at their expense) just to say sorry, do you? If they have test pressings lying about, it stands to reason they've got extra stock of Analords and probably almost every Rephlex release in storage.

Oh, of course, that's common knowledge. I was mostly wanting to know how many copies you think they have lying around. Surely it can't be too many.

  3. Joyrex would have to get them all pressed, work out which of the hundreds of people had funded extra and then ship them all over the world and no doubt then have the worry about some not turning up, there being a problem with some pressings etc ....

I was suggesting Rephlex do the pressing since, you know, it's their label and all. Deliver the excess cash to Rephlex if they agree to finally release it on wax for the masses.

  4. Joyrex, since this is clearly leagues ahead of the original goal in funding, do you have a plan for the excess funds? I think everyone would love a physical pressing without question, so depending on how high this goes, could Rephlex be convinced to add a stretch goal for this where if we reach another benchmark they'll do a vinyl pressing? I can say with certainty that it would encourage even more people (like me) to donate even more, and you might even still be left with excess funds after the records are pressed.

  5. i got a rip because rephlex does not care about updating their download site, the quality is kinda shit and it sounds really fucking grindcore, i love it!

What a shitty rip it is, though. There's way too much hum and static.

  6. you big puss, run the place red is a great remix

and kill the place alive01 & kill the place alive02 have their place

-they sound so great on certain days.

Is that what KTPA actually stands for? If not, that's still a pretty brilliant way to explain it, haha.

  7. I seriously, seriously love the Ktpas. Check out 'Satanstornade' by Masami Akita & Russell Haswell for more anguish.

Also, I'm not having this argument again. They're constructed, made to sound good. There's no image.

You'll have me to agree, but I wonder if anyone else here does. Most seem to hate them...
