Mix thoughts needed for next track

Recommended Posts

I have very bad speakers. I have good headphones: Sennheiser HD26 Pro.
I need headphones cause I do not live alone and I work for hours. I am unemployed due to my sickness and so I have a lot of time.

I would like to know if the song is at least listenable. There can be mistakes but if its not too bad I do not care. I am FAR from a pro.
I just want to know if it sounds not all to bad.

I will use this topics for all mix request I ask. On the moment I have one request for the track: For Freedom

Okay I changed things yesterday and decided not to ask for listen anymore untill today, when I could hear it with fresh ears.
It sounds good thru my headphones, I would like to ask you how it sounds on your speakers.
It does not have to be perfect, I aint a pro at all, but it needs to be at least listenable.

If okay, this track will be sent to tunecore

I used a different plugin to master for this one. I have Ozone 11 Advanced and I am sure I can do better with that plugin, yet I am someone who likes to experiment over learning. I learn by experimenting I guess. Ozone is a bit complicated for a noob like me, but I use it years.
Yet I thought of using a different plugin for the mastering and I found landr mastering pro plugin. I have it on rent to own from splice now, three days are free anyway after that 20 a month. I could do a 20 this month and buy it next month if it sounds better.
For me the simplicity in its interface does wonders. Do not think this is a good option if you want to go deep. Ozone is a far better option then. But for me, with not much knowledge, its interesting to see that each section on the interface has an explanation of what it does. This is very good for people like me.
It has EQ, Dynamics, Loudness, Focus/Wideness and various other options which can easily be manipulated by turning knobs. Its perfect for me to be honest.
The version sounds as good as the same, to me and my headphones, as the ozone one, but the highs, from the synths, seem to be softer. I think that makes it a better version to be honest to listen to the track on higher volumes.

Please let me know what you think

Well gone back to ozone and just used the Ai. Thats basicly what landr plugin also does, and made small changes on eq. I have learned something from the Landr plugin.

Before using the ai option, I made my own ozone chain, I did it all myself, I acknowledge that, and changed the sound drasticly with it, to the point that I had to mix again AFTER mastering.
This is not good.

Yet this is how I functioned for many months.

I will now use the ai option and adjust eq and loudness a bit and thats it. I learned that it actually needs to sound good BEFORE mastering and that always was no problem. It sounded not to bad each time but went wrong with the mastering.
I have not listened to this track yet on speakers, I did but changed a few things, will be able to listen tomorrow. Let me know what you think.
I learned that if there is still a problem now its in my mix, and I am not a expert and its not something I want to "learn" by watching youtube videos.
I want to make music and all this audio design is something I do not like, it is necessary but its not what its inside me. Making music however, is inside me.

So let me know what you think of this track, its in a testfase, private link, before sending it to Tunecore.
