I'd write the bass to a gained 808 (with some twiddeling of LFO to make it interesting), in whatever program you are using. I think it would improve the track greatly, but i could be wrong. I'm never any good at planning tracks, and most of my ideas turn out to be pretty shit. Probably best to just regard this as a shit track and write something better.
