Weird question.

It is a weird question, but it involves active participation nevertheless.

Can you please list all the "Dream Pop" artists you can think of that have said something bad about God or have made it clear that they don't like God?

That's a mental question.

Do the Jesus and Mary Chain count as dream pop?

They've got Jesus and Mary in their name.

I've got nothing...

This thread has at least inspired me to listen to Blue Bell Knoll this afternoon. If I hear Liz Fraser say anything bad about God I'll post it here.

the closest i can think of is a song called 'no god only religion' by spiritualized, but they are not very dreampop

what the hell is dream pop? smashing pumpkins? heard the billy boy was into nietzsche and stuff. if that isn't an incentive to write angry anti religious pop, i don't know what is

i wasnt going to put this on the internet but ill do it now in light of the thread

brittney spears - ...Baby One More Time

its interesting how this song exploded on to the scene almost overnight, and how brittney spears became an instant pop sensation around the world. its all because of this song. about a boyfriend? i think not. if you look at the lyrics (listen to the song while youre reading, because the song is amazing), you see that she isnt actually singing to a guy, she is singing to God. i know she didnt even write the song, but when you put 2 and 2 together, and connect the dots, with the songs success, her forthcoming career, everything, it all comes together and makes sense. ill let you decipher the implications...

Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know

That something wasnt right here

Oh baby baby, I shouldnt have let you go

And now youre out of sight, yeah

Show me how you want it to be

Tell me baby cuz I need to know now, oh because

Chorus

My loneliness is killin me (and I)

I must confess I still believe (still believe)

When Im not with you I lose my mind

Give me a sign, hit me baby one more time!

Oh baby baby, the reason I breathe is you

Boy youve got me blinded

Oh pretty baby, theres nothin that I wouldnt do

Thats not the way I planned it

Show me how you want it to be

Tell me baby cuz I need to know now, oh because

Chorus

Oh baby baby, how was I supposed to know

Oh pretty baby, I shouldnt have let you go

I must confess that my loneliness

Is killin me now

Dont you know I still believe

That you will be here

And give me a sign, hit me baby one more time

Chorus

I must confess (my loneliness) that my loneliness

(is killing me) is killing me now

(I must confess) dont you (I still believe) know I still believe

That you will be here (I lose my mind)

And give me a sign...

Hit me baby one more time!

as you can see, the lyrics dont even make sense when they are directed towards a man!!! what the fuck? to me, its obvious what the song is about. then ask yourself why would the music industry become hell bent on manufactoring this new artists with lyrics "about a boy", when obviously they are directed towards "God". cmon, i must confess.....give me a sign.....? when has anyone ever said that to their significant other? never. think about it, its very weird
