I can't believe there are people here who actually like his music.

I liked Room for Squares, I thought it was funny that track 13 was less than half a second of silence and I related to some of the lyrics, plus I was a teenager.

Heavier Things was not in the same area, however. It sounded like he rushed to get another release, and was listening to too much pop while he was writing.

Continuum was much better than it's predecessor, but lacked the personal feeling his debut had nailed so nicely. There was more blues and showcased more of his guitar work, which I also liked.

Just picked up Battle Studies, and I haven't even heard it all the way through yet, so I don't have a verdict for it, but from what I've heard on the radio, this one may fall between Continuum and Heavier Things on my appreciation scale.

That's where I stand on John Mayer. I wouldn't say "I like his music," I would say I like some of his work.
