Michael Richards (the Seinfeld guy) managed to go too far as his act was too believable and he attacked someone in the crowd using race. But saying that, if he were black, he would've gotten away with it and that's where the real issue lies. Black people can say nigger all they want in our age, and maybe that's disconcerting. You can argue that they've changed the meaning and context, a supreme and final conquest over their oppression. Or you can argue that it's still a hateful word and that it's use by anyone (outside of racial discussion and learning) is offensive. Racial.
