for someone who loves the orb and has all their releases but hasn't delved much into live orb, what are a handful of shows from your resource you'd recommend?

to be honest, the best recordings and performances are either in live 93 or the 3cd set that i made.

 

but if you want full live recordings, the best 4 are:

 

1993-08-28/29 trekroner water festival, copenhagen (they played at a disused off-shore port on a floating stage that was built to resemble a ghetto blaster. attendees were ferried between the island and the shore to hear them play two shows; one at sunset and another at dawn - and they're on top form...includes a 30 min version of lovin u!)

1993-11-28 brixton academy (for an epic version of towers of dub, where lx got his dog otto to bark into a microphone on stage...otto could not handle the pressures of stardom and famously quit the music business in dramatic fashion. he now lives amongst the gay community of brighton.)
