...not sure if this was a once off, or part of a programme of...programmes...but watched the Boy George biopic and the 80s pop music/sex documentary afterwards.

The Boy George programme was very good, apart from an excellent soundtrack and great performances I guess it stressed once again how so many figures who were to play some role in changing attitudes to music and/or sexuality came from a very small pool of people who hung around together, Steve Strange and Rusty Egan (Visage), Boy George and Jon Moss of Culture Club, Martin Degville of Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny), Marilyn, with cameos from Bowie, Billy Idol, Spandau Ballet etc.

The documentary was only so so, really just a collection of clips of FGTH, the Smiths etc.

i saw the last half hour of the boy george thing and thought it was diabolical... usual bbc cheapshit drama, badly acted/written, cringeworthy... and boy george is/always was a hideous human.

i was never a fan of the period, rediculous fashion or the shitty pop music. at the time i liked adam ant, the jam, the specials, bad manners and madness. :emb:

End if it was a bit rushed, the programme could have focussed far more on Culture Club but almost glossed over that time.

Loved that music myself, maybe not Culture Club themselves who were a bit pop driven, but the more synthy new romantic stuff like China Crisis, Visage etc.
