How do you set up multi track recording in cubase sx 2.01?

like how do you set it up to simultaniously record different audotracks at the same time? Im currently useing a firewire audio card with 8 inputs but cubase only detedts a single sterio input. im useing an Echo audiofire 8 sound card.

1. install the drivers that came bundled with your audio interface (or download newer ones)

2. go to cubase's device panel, and select the driver you have just installed (usually ASIO -nameofinterface-)

3. create 8 audio tracks

4. set each track's input to a different physical input

5. record enable all the tracks (click on R button)

6. hit rec&play at the same time

7. play music
