Me looking particularly rough this morning after a bottle of white wine and 5 hours of interrupted sleep, because of the chick next to me.
-
Aww, you two look very well suited, almost similar in a way - I think people are meant to attracted to other people who have similarities.

Just moved to a new place last week, got my work/listening place started. Pretty streamlined, component-wise.
L to R:
Fluorescent Grey - Ambiente;
$150 crosley turntable my gf got me for x-mas (audio-technica cartridge) which I need to buy a phono stage for-- it's no rega but it's user adjustable and doesn't sound bad at all;
Grado HF-2 and Sennheiser HD-650 headphones (sitting on a teacup (?) holder from bed bath & beyond which works perfectly as a headphone stand);
Audioengine A5 monitors;
Headphones and monitors running from an Apogee Duet (first gen, firewire) I/O and DAC/headphone amp unit;
Apogee Duet is fed lossless files (usually) from a new 27" iMac;
Little Samsung external burner for ripping CDs;
A kaleidoscope thingy;
And I really need to get new curtains for this room
Is that an Apogee Duo? Was thinking of getting one for live guitar/vocals - any good?

Is this a good on? I don't even know, I bought the lot 2nd hand for £200 - it's a tad bass-y I think but otherwise I love it.

Yes the wobbly willy look just adds to the overall pleasing effect for me.

First animation with photoshop
Nice! It does look like the ciggie's hanging off the top of his beak a bit though.

I don't know what chipotle is, I feel culturally barren.

My home made album cover, I'm self-taught btw:

I'm intrigued. A celebrity who needs a favour from you... Michael Barrymore? John Leslie?

my down-filled winter jacket leaks down feathers through the outer material and attracts all manner of fluff and hair/pubes. it wasn't cheap either! nothing works to get them off. :angry:
I had a duvet that did that when I was a youngster. I have to say though, I had years of pleasure just trying to grab the tiniest tips of the feather with my nails and slowly pulling the feather out, slowly in case it broke - it was like the pleasure you get from pulling out what you think is a small bogey, then it pulls an entire streak of hidden snot from the back of our your throat.

Here's a good start, Gil Fronsdal's introduction to mediation talks - which have a 20 minute guided session at the end of each talk:

This stuff doesn't belong to Buddhism by the way, nor does it make you a Buddhist, it's just a life skill based on fundamental human truths that happens to be explained very well by the Buddha.

I've been doing it for a while now. Definitely less stressed than I used to be. I got into because I accidentally meditated without realising it for a fortnight when I was ill and in a lot of pain, and something amazing happened. I've trying to get back to that state for a while now but I think I'd need to go on a retreat to be able to dedicate a big chunk of time to it.
