My favourite spam email was entitled "LOANS 4 RETIREMENT." Didn't open the message, but the title was certainly memorable, and raises so many questions... Who would loan a retiree money? Do they expect to be paid back after the person dies?

Thanks MisterE! I'll keep you guys updated on my progress - can't wait for this monster to be finished.
-
Took some more pictures today.
Halfway done at this point.

Oh man, Schematic was the SHIT in the early 2000's. Between them & M3RCK I felt like America was finally pulling its weight in the IDM department.
-
This is a bit premature, but here's a work-in-progress shot of my latest original modular origami:
It will be composed of 300 pieces when finished!

love the tone capsule album so much - my roommate turned me onto that one in late 95 or 96; it really had an influence on my subsequent musical taste.

What got me hooked on Doyobi was playing competitive Dr. Mario with my old roommate while Cryptoburners played as our soundtrack, circa 2001. Nothing like 8-bit gaming with an updated 8-bit soundtrack! To be honest, though, I wasn't too big of a fan the first time I heard the album... until we had a really competitive match while listening to uberfonk. Then, I knew I was part of the Team.

Jesus aencre.. just incredible!

Dang, that's awesome patternoverlap! The pelican made me think of this illustration by Arthur Rackham (from Alice in Wonderland):
-
Cheers for that link spiral - grabbing it now.

When I bought Brownout on vinyl, I'd never heard the music before & thought it was supposed to be played at 45 rpm, as the music's so slow. Took me a while to get used to hearing it at the proper speed! Of course, it's one of my favourite albums now - especially Biorepo & Melfad.
-
Yeah, me too. Have you ever tried making a linocut?

There's a huge bamboo patch just like that about a mile from my house near a creek bed. They escaped from a nearby garden decades ago & now dominate several acres.
-
Damn! I love moss & ferns. They don't exactly rule the environment in arid-ass Texas, though, unless it's an exceptionally wet winter (this one hasn't been).
edit: Is that watercress at the bottom-left by the stream? Yum!

Love that last one. Reminds me of smoke folding into air.
-
Nah. Do you remember the name? I'd be interested in seeing that!

This origami isn't new - I think I've even posted it on watmm before, long ago. However, the photo is new; I sold this piece recently & wanted to take a few more pics before sending it off.

Yeah, the 7\phex symbol jumped out at me instantly.

Lewps, those are amazing! The face in the 1st one made me think of "The Horde" by Ernst, for some reason. They don't look anything alike, just something in his expression reminded me of the painting.

Free Village EP, its really nice
This sounds great, but it's not free (anymore?). Asking 5 euro..
edit: That south london ordinance track is sick!
-
thats really cool dude. and you came up with it yourself? thats really impressive. ive always liked origami but could never do it myself.
Thanks mate! I've always been into origami too, since I was small. Been meaning to write an instruction book of my designs but it's hard representing 3D diagrams on the page - I've been trying to learn Processing (freeware animation/illustration programming language) but it's slow going so far.. I'm not a programmer!
-
A purple octahedron I folded - my own design.
-
Love all three cryptowen. Tessellations rule!
Also, has anyone used Processing before? (freeware drawing/animation software)
I'm trying to pick it up, but I've never learned any programming language before (shameful, I know) so it's slow going.
-
Nice drawings Salvatorin - the first 3 remind me of cells under a microscope; something I look at every day at work!
What does WATMM think about Prefuse 73 overall?

His Delarosa & Asora releases are my favourite.. a shame that's the first incarnation he retired. When I got the Estrocaro EP in 2000 I really loved it; I thought OWE was pretty amazing at the time too. Of course, my interest waned rapidly & I never heard Security Screenings or anything subsequently released.
