I keep asking questions when you guys go to sleep so no sure if you answered or not?
DO you like doing the Sound On Sound and Future Music interviews where you talk more about your gear? Its always a great insight to see the studio and read about the gear, kind of like what you are doing now.
-
Will you do any further SOS or Future Music interviews. I guess lots of us would love to get images of your studios over the years and how they have changed. I dont need your addresses :-) Just love gear.
-
Can we see a photo of your current studios?
-
I was thinking about the popularity of the DJ and that the future clubs could well not have DJs but computers with a distict style of music and you woud go to the club that played the style you liked. How far away is this going to happen?
I watched this doco about Automaton and it blew my mind that this 240 year old creation had 6000 parts and could mimic hand writing and draw. Have you seen this before? http://youtu.be/FUa7oBsSDk8

What do you think of Ricardo Villalobos? To me he is up there with Autechre in being one of the most out there "dance" artists. You guys def push the boundary of what we consider composition more than him due to his 4/4 beats anchoring his tracks but I do like the fact is is quite abstract.
I always thought 808 State were the Weather Report of the dance scene. Comments?

Do you find any ipad music apps interesting?
-
Woah, really? Any track in particular?Slip on Amber reminds me of Severed Heads
Severd heads era 83-86 http://youtu.be/E--oGXcC79Q check 3 mins and Dead Eyes open.

If you do like Mego please check out VICMOD Records http://www.vicmod.net lots of great leftfield electonic artists there.
I second this, do you run this label amni?
Cheers John , yes I do. I am obsessed with electronic music :-)

First off big thanks for taking the time to open up for us. I have been a huge fan since Incunabula. I actually had dinner with you guys in Melbourne Australia back in 95/96? You played an amazing set in front of maybe 20 people! Also saw you in 2010 in Melb :-) full house that time.
Anyway I find you guys to be one of the most unique electronic artists and the most advanced when it comes to composition. There have only been 3 times in your career where i thought, oh this track sounds heavily influenced by...and wanted to know if these artists did inspire the tracks.
Slip on Amber reminds me of Severed Heads
VLetrm21 from Garbage sounds like Arvo Part
Pce Freeze2.81 from Oversteps reminds me of Breathing in Fumes
If you do like Mego please check out VICMOD Records http://www.vicmod.net lots of great leftfield electonic artists there.
Thanks again for your time.

I listened to this track in its entirety whilst tripping on shrooms this weekend and I've got to say it was really deep, absolutely mind-blowing experience:)
IM SURE ANY MUSIC ON MUSHROOMS IS AMAZING...MEAT BEAT MANIFESTOS 99% WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAV MUSHROOM MUSIC AND THE PSYCHIC WARRIORS OV GAIA ALBUM :-)
-
I think over time you will see there is a theme, people are right when they say it can take a year to get into an album...I have now cranked up 40 complete listens and love it more and more, so by the time I am over Quari I will have the bonus disc :-)
-
I don't want a fuckin jam, I've got the live recordings for that. I want a composed piece of music, something they wrote.
a jam is composed music, its just composed right away
-
I just gt the bonus track, well actually i didnt read it was a 20 track release and only dlded 19 tracks so it was just by chance I went back to Bleep and saw the 20th track :-)
-
in a recent interview i saw of sean he says he would never release the live show cause he thinks its 'milking it'
but its a free CD so it could well be not milking it as we aint paying for it.
Only track i think didnt need to be there is the one that is like scraping waves with a loop in parts, didnt see the point to it , pure filler..
I wonder what the bonus Japan tracks are?
-
you could be right about the Scotland show that is 68 mins..I hope its not as I already have it, but it should sound much better than my 128bit version
-
yes love th new album, looking forward to no.10 now please be soon
-
As we speak I have just woken with Quari on loop play mode I would say I am now a Borg
The overall mastering has a pastel mist quality to it

I'm getting tired of coming here everyday and read the same stuff.... And judging the upcoming autechre's album, or the tracks; by the tracks we've heard, most of them is really shitty quality, is a bit stupid...
Even Simmm, which is in a rather good quality, is nothing to what it's gonna be I'm sure. The sound is flat..
So come on, let' see the real stuff : WHERE IS THE LEAK !!!!
(sorry for bringing that up again, but come on, that's the point of this thread until 3/3/08)

Oh yeah I keep meaing to ask and I know you touched on it at the start but why not just put your live stuff out on DVD like Farmers Manual did? Or maybe just the better recordings if you are worried about quality control? I am sure us fans would eat it up.
