    The Wasp Factory

The first bit is actually kind of relaxing and calm in its isolation which juxtaposes the mad stories the main character tells.

'It is written from a first person perspective, told by sixteen-year-old Frank Cauldhame, describing his childhood and all that remains of it. Frank observes manyshamanistic rituals of his own invention, and it is soon revealed that Frank was the perpetrator of three deaths of children within his family before he reached the age of ten himself. As the novel develops, his brother's escape from a mental hospital and impending return...'

I wouldn't read much more on the page.

  2. Autechre - L-event 8/10 (for M39 Diffain alone)

    Autechre -

    Brian Parnham - Mantle 7.5/10

Steve Roach commissioned him in 2007 and well his site says this: "The result presents an adroit sound artist coming into full form within this shadowed sonic wonderland drawn from the Earth's inner realms". Makes me think of Deathprod and similar darkness.

Ricardo Donoso - As Iron Sharpens Iron 8.5/10

Has that arp sound from some of the new Boc and nods its head to Larry Heard and Subway.

Laurel Halo - Chance of Rain 9/10

Oddly discordant and obtuse at times. I hear Autechre in Thrax.

  3. Hello Rob and Sean. Been listening to your work for maybe 10 years now (I've never thought about it that way - crazy to say). I have a very specific question about a single track. Surripere. It has been my favourite since Draft came out and seems to have a narrative to it, a story almost. Do you remember the process? Or could you pick a track you could give some more meaning to? (Surripere to me is an alien train on a doomed path).

I imagine your tracks as pulsing and moving visual objects or scenes, do you ever think of them visually?
