  1. I became a high school teacher as a second profession. No curriculum whatsoever was provided for me to instruct with. As the principal said upon hiring me, “You are the book.”  I tortured myself last year trying to figure out some half-assed lesson plans. Then within the last couple weeks, I practically feel like I’m having a manic episode because I finally have figured it out. I know what to teach, how to teach it, and may even enjoy doing this. But now I have way too much material to chop up and turn into something spectacular. It’s going to take me a full year to get all this together. I know it’s a test of patience and endurance, but damn I’ve already been going so hard for so long. Need a month off from the classroom just for curriculum building. Also need a vacation. And a massage.

Just cracked into the first hour of Ghost of Tsushima / PS5.  No significant opinions just yet.

It’s essentially red dead. Finding it tougher than expected on medium difficulty. But now thinking I need to move to Japan and become a samurai. So I’m in. Wish I could take off work tomorrow.

  3. Never owned an amp, borrowed my brother-in-law's (an acoustic guitar amp) to zen out with my 606, loved having the larger sound, he needed it back, and now I want my own.  I know little about audio quality, and obviously doing nothing extraordinary here.  What's cheap but serviceable?  Noob q, I know...

  4. I want to believe and will definitely watch this on HBOMax. Just refuse to jump on the Villeneuve bandwagon. Seen everything he’s done down to the shorts and just find it all so self important. There are soMe great reviews outta Venice. But look at David Ehrlich’s review, which goes into depth about how it doesn’t have a pulse

Lynch disowns his version, but until proven otherwise that’s the Dune for me.

Also fwiw Chase Palmer adapted Dune for WB about 15 years back and wrote a fantastic script.

  5. I wonder how many people would be constipated if they didn't drink coffee regularly

Just experienced this firsthand. Decided I was going to drink tea and give up coffee cold turkey. Didn’t even have a good reason why, sometimes I just try these experiments on myself. But first problem was plumbing stopped working. So back to my quad espressos and feeling better than ever.
  6. Great responses. I’ve had an a4 in the past and regrettably got rid of it, mainly at the time because I didn’t have the patience to go through the menus. I have less time now and want something more immediate, simply to have fun with. That said, the videos I’m seeing on the model samples aren’t strikingly impressive.

well, this was pretty bad. it's basically a bunch of music videos edited around a very loose story of a guy that really wants to perform a concert for everyone on an island. that's pretty much it. you spend the entire time watching him dance- then he finally is about to do the concert and a guy you've never seen before tells him not to. so he's like "ummm okay" then some kids ask him "hey are you going to the concert?" and he's like yes. so he does the concert. (p.s. he's the only performer at the concert)

    the end

agree. Style over substance. The stars and filmmakers could get away with murder. Here, they just got a free, long vacation in Cuba. Good for them, but fool me once...
  8. Started cities skylines. As someone who has very little time for gaming, it’s not instantly approachable and it’s a challenge to get the pacing right. I can’t get beyond a small town before everyone loses their electricity or water, there’s a sewage backup, there are too many sick people, homes are abandoned, I’m out of money and loans, and there’s a mass exodus. Need to understand the foundation and pacing more. Until then, back to red dead.
