I think the obstacle isn't that answers to the problems of modern times and realistic visions for a better future don't already exist, it is that those who have them aren't in power.
yep.
will they ever be in power? seems like anyone who challenges the status quo usually gets stomped out before making it very far....and also, there's just not many of them.

Listen JACK. The fact of the matter is, we need UNITY. and when I served as Vice President under Barack Obama, that's exactly what we had.

once he's out of office SDNY is going to go after him hard. they've hired forensic accountants to go through his business deals and taxes. if they can gather up the evidence and present it in a compelling way he very well could be heavily fined and or sent to some kind of country club type federal prison for white collar criminals. very skeptical about all that actually happening but who knows.. he at a minimum is going to be paying lawyers for years to deal with this shit.
I think this is the main reason he's so desperate to stay in office.
Although I think an actual arrest would trigger a civil conflict of some sort.
He's the leader of a massive cult. He has some supporters that seemingly would die for him. In their minds, he's like a god. He can do no wrong. And he's never done anything wrong.
According to them, he's been harassed and accused by the Deep State for 4 years, and now theyve stolen the election from him. If he's actually arrested at some point, it will be a line in the sand for these nut jobs. Hell even a Biden confirmation this Wednesday could be a line for some of them.

that recording....wow
this guys an absolute maniac. 25th amendment when?
If he actually believes he won, then he's delusion and should be removed ASAP.
If he doesn't actually believe he won, then he must be afraid of what happens when he's no longer in office.

Just add a compressor with a certain frequency range. It's not going to be as precise as what you can do with a dynamic EQ.
But besides... I do think that you could compress the bass even more because it sounds a bit loose and needs a bit of tightning up.alright I updated the mix, sounds a little better to my ears. hopefully i didn't make it worse.

Adding a dynamic EQ on the actual bassline should do wonders.
bummer i don't have a dynamic EQ plugin....any suggestions on how to fix it with just regular Ableton parametric EQ?

Good job!
Always thought the same thing, maybe something like Kawai K1, but as you said it was just the same sample used for the vocals. How genius!
I discovered that by watching this video, actually:
Yep that's how I found it too.
Kudos to that guy for finding that exact segment. Must have taken ages!
How did he even know to look for it? Blows my mind.

as far as i know you can contact that guy doing the voiceovers and pay him a small fee and he'll say anything you want.

Impressive! What did you use for the main synth in Xtal? Always loved that sound.
the main synth line and female vocals actually both come from the same sample. its from a library music album.
so the main synth line is a segment of this clip (like around 16 seconds IIRC) played using a sampler......so the clip itself is being used as an instrument to create the melody.
crazy i always thought it was a synth making that melody. turns out he just sampled the same track he used for the vocals.
probably got those two down first and built the track around them.

Am I missing something? I had to be committing a causal slippery slope fallacy, but it strikes me that Dobbs and friends would be seriously naive to not expect a serious civilian catastrophe, should congressional Republicans go down that path. Am I being a worry-wort? I've been accused of that many times, though to be fair to myself, I'm often right about my worries (not even close to 100%, admittedly, but I've been right often enough to not shake the disposition).
I'm with you here. I don't see how it doesn't end in a civil conflict if these election results are overturned due to some wacky loophole in the constitution. The thing is (and I hope I'm wrong), it seems many of the extremist Trump folks want this outcome. Like they're champing at the bit to get out and kill libz.
IDK maybe I just spend too much time online laughing at the Qanon ppl, but it does seem like many of them think that outcome would be like fulfilling a prophecy or something. Its fucked up.

The bassline that starts at around 1:15 is a bit off. It's too loud and there is one note that resonates much louder than the rest of the melody (should be around 170Hz)
yeah that was so hard for me to get down for some reason. maybe the kick is resonating with it in a weird way on that note?

Checked out the Xtal remake, you have a good ear for the synths and drums he used. At a glance, it could be mistaken for the original
What'd you use to make this?
thanks.
I used Ableton and tried to use plug-in emulations of gear he was (allegedly) using on that album.
TAL sampler, Arturia DX7, Roland R8/808 samples, Airwindows Console/Tape emulations

A little project I've been working on in between writing my own stuff.
I've always been fascinated with SAW 85-92 and how it was created, as there's not a whole lot of info about it on the internet.
I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to recreate some of the tracks to maybe find out myself, through trial an error, how some of it was made.

imo the current situation is such that you have multiple very large groups who each believe that they are the informed group seeing objective reality, and that the other group is the one who has clearly been placed under an illusion. The longer this goes on the greater the polarization becomes, as each distinct system bolsters its respective reality - whatever reality you subscribe to, there's going to be someone out there who can make it sound smart. And ultimately I think this leads to one of three scenarios
A. There is a strikingly clear-cut "truth event" which the majority of the overall population can agree upon, regardless of their previous political orientation. This could perhaps be something like you describe - a lie so egregious that even those who would have previously stood with the liar can no longer do so in good faith. This truth event would become a collective orientation point of sorts, an idea around which the conflicting parts could once more start building a (somewhat) unified vision of society.
B. We become increasingly used to the idea of multipolar truth, aka living in a single society where there are multiple large groups with completely opposed ideas of "how things are", but somehow these groups are still able to function somewhat harmoniously in terms of maintaining basic social cohesion.
C. The disparities grow to the point where there's actual hot civil war 2.0
A and C are the most likely
