  1. Hi Sean and Rob. Love you music, thanks for doing this, etc.

    1. Oversteps really jumped out at me as having to do with counterpoint, the interplay between multiple voices talking to each other. I noticed this particularly in O=0 and redfall.

Is this something that you intended? Is this something you noticed?

    2. Is Pro Radii based around samples of a sporting event? If so, what kind of sport. Basketball?

  2. I was walking in front of the canabis store that opened up in my neighbourhood.

A black man in a fuzzy bee onesie was standing outside it.

In case you're having trouble picturing a black man in a fuzzy bee onesie, picture this, but replace the girl with a black man:

I tried walking past him without making eye contact, not because I was afraid of him, but because I didn't want him to think I was judging him. He walked up to me and said "boo" while making a hocus-pocus movement with his hands and giving me the crazy eye. I jumped a little, and quietly yelped in surprise.

I hurried away, not feeling scared of him because he was a black man, but feeling mortified that he might think I'm racist for having jumped.

  3. i cant believe people would actually waste their lives with this crap

im not joking you fucking prick, people like you are one of the reasons i hate this shit, cant stand it anymore.

    fuck off douche

hey guys, i knew this was going to happen. not trying to start a flame war so everyone calm down please. this place is so ridiculous, cant even start a civil discussion about how one may perceive certain types of music. you are all very immature.

  4. If you think that's funny, you should try listening to those tracks. I mean, like, wtf?

(I mean that seriously, without meaning to disparage the music. I love autechre. But sometimes you gotta laugh at it)

  5.

Listened for the first time at work today. First impression: "that's a lot of nasty FM, and agressing HPing".

Second impression: "God damn this album is funky!"

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, as I haven't read the whole thread, but has anyone else thought that this sounds more like Gescom than Autechre?

agreed with all of that. i mentioned the Gescom feel in Flep in particular. i'd have excused the existence of nodezsh and runrepik if they were on a Gescom album. ;)

Are you saying that you don't like these tracks, or just that they sound too Gescomy to be on an Autechre album? I say this because nodezsh has been the standout track for me so far, and makes a lot of sense to me as an Autechre track. It walks the perfect line between Oversteps and Move of Ten.

  7. Great album. Really beautiful sounds and intense rambling rhythms.

I feel like often they are hinting at a simple structure, but masking it. So you just get an inkling of what's holding the whole thing together while you try to keep up with the barrages of sound.

  8. Cue philosophy debate on watmm.

Also, different people have different experiences with depression and with doctors. I've heard of doctors basically just blaming the patient and saying "shape up". Personally, I have a very good experience with a psychiatrist. However, my depression was linked with an actual negative situation in my life, making it easier to treat. I know people who just have depression, not linked to anything they can change, and sometimes they react positively to drugs, sometimes not.

I think, as far as things go, several months isn't super bad. I had depression for a couple years, and it's fading away with time now. Sometimes time solves things. Is there something that's causing your depression?
