  1. I don't know a lot about C but I do know that it is pretty low level. Maybe start with C++ and/or Objective-C which are built on top of C anyways. You'll get the general C stuff but in addition you can focus on object oriented programming concepts. I'd say its really important to understand these concepts, and as much as you don't like reading, you kind of have to. But good tutorials will mix English with concrete examples, which makes it easier to understand.

You are definitely really good at puzzle games... You have the mind for it. Like people have said already, its an act of constant problem solving and learning. Those really are constants in programming.

Oh and yes, stackoverflow.com is your friend. At my last job, I basically taught myself advanced android programming through asking questions there and reading discussions. If you have a question, I promise you its already been asked there.

I learn well by discussing back and forth, which is why I went back to school for 2 years, so I could discuss and ask questions in real time. It can be hard to find that kind of setting outside of academia though. I'd try to find groups or friends that you can meet up with. I'm sure there are real time chats for this too, I've just never done it.

Anyways, good luck dude! Just don't forget to spend time on sound design while you're at it. Programming can consume you. :)

  2.

agreed its a fun film to watch. has it not gone down in your estimation since you thought about it afterwards though?

me too. but thinking about it now it makes some sense. you want something that is difficult to do, or at least not just pressing a 'on' button. david can activate it as he can learn quickly AND he saw the hologram thing. a dumbass human would struggle, unless they knew music. right? but even saying that a flute is dumb, just have a PASSWORD!

Nope, if anything I like it more that I think about it, and read peoples interpretations etc. It's just a movie.

And yeah, the flute didn't ruin the film for me or anything, it just seemed off. It could have been some awesome hologram interface that was an instrument, and they could have done a simon says type thing, enter the right pattern/melody. It just would have seemed more appropriate seeing as there were all of these holograms and crazy green electricity energy waves etc. What happens if the engineer lost the flute whilst sitting around a campfire getting high?

  3. I tall, so the angle is ok, and I hardly ever work during the day... Night time is the right time!

I do want to get another stand like the one the virus is on, and put the MD on it, to the right of the virus.

  4. Here was my studio last week. I just moved out of that apartment, and I took the pic for the memories.

Now I currently just have my virus and machinedrum on a little desk, going through headphones. I'm staying at a place temporarily, so I won't be setting up the entire studio again for a couple of months, until I get settled in a more permanent place.

I enjoyed this setup... was very ergonomic!

  5. Alec Empire made some great music when he was young and angry. But he's a complete fucking plonker.

Edit: I can't fucking type this morning.

    WWWTTTFFFFFF!!!???

Man, that was embarassing. What happened to him?

ATR was my favorite band when I was 13/14. Having grown up being only exposed to radio rock, when I heard ATR for the first time, my brain melted, and I became obsessed. They are what got me into electronic music. As I got more into electronic music, I drifted away from ATR... there was much more interesting stuff to listen to. The energy was really what grabbed me... the energy and the abrasiveness. When I listen to them now, I can't really stomach it much any more, but I still understand why it grabbed me originally. They were also the first concert I ever went to, and so they do have a special place in my heart...

but holy shit what the hell happened to him? As I grew older I realized more and more he was kind of full of shit, but that video verifies it completely.
