  1. I like most of Cheetah, but the first and last tracks drag on and sound too repetitive to my ears. I just fell asleep listening to track 7. Maybe I need more iron in my diet.

  2. Gonna start watching more animes. Any suggestions? I've seen a lot of the more popular ones (Bebop, FMA, Gurren Lagann, Death Note, etc)

I recently watched Hunter x Hunter, all 148 episodes. Great characters and crazy fight sequences throughout the series. Highly recommended! Favorite stories were about the phantom troupe. :)

  3. I'm embarrassed to say I actually paid money to see American Sniper over the weekend. From what I had heard, It sounded like a slick propaganda piece, and sure enough it was! So much rah rah American jingoist bullshit. On top of that, the movie itself was dull. Boring acting, shit direction, just mediocre in every way. Simplistic as hell view of the Iraq war (black vs white, good vs. evil). The guy the story was based on was full of shit. Of course audiences are eating it up. Weird how at the end there was no music as the credits rolled. So you had people shuffling awkwardly out of the theater. Just a weird, shitty experience being in a crowd full of people who actually liked the film and believed in all of its imperialist lies.

  4. lol! l have no problems with weirdo giants eating people, but this is some f*cked up sh*t. :diablo:

i'm so far behind on aphex videos. just now watching the full version of windowlicker

but yeah, I'd say Attack on Titan and Death Note are two of my favorite animes. must find anime thread in gen ban!

  5.

I like the video idea, but I agree with making the whole process at simple as possible. Unfortunately it appears the studio doesn't allow anyone present during the recording session. Maybe its feasible for the studio to use a camcorder to get us some video of the rip, at least.

It's unlikely they'd have the extra hands on staff to be doing that - besides, it will be just the record spinning on some very high-end equipment, I imagine - not terribly exciting, IMO.

Maybe that Taiwanese outfit that does the CGI reenactments for news events could do one? :emotawesomepm9:

Not terribly exciting? Let me tell you something, it the best thing ever! lol. Ok I guess I have no life, but I like watching records spin on a turntable.

A shot like this would be cool and easy to set up:

  6. Joyrex, since this is clearly leagues ahead of the original goal in funding, do you have a plan for the excess funds? I think everyone would love a physical pressing without question, so depending on how high this goes, could Rephlex be convinced to add a stretch goal for this where if we reach another benchmark they'll do a vinyl pressing? I can say with certainty that it would encourage even more people (like me) to donate even more, and you might even still be left with excess funds after the records are pressed.

Interesting idea. I'd love to have a vinyl copy. Any idea of the cost to press, say, 2000?

  7. 2) yeah i remember panasonic had this really loud bass in one track and it made one of the speaker cabs fall onto our mixer, fucked up some of the channels before we played, and then they were laughing about it. it was a bit weakening really, i hadn't thought of them as cunts before that, w/e.

cylob and boards were good tho. no recording sorry

hah interesting story. was just listening to some pan sonic, they're ok i guess. but I'd hate it if someone accidentally damaged my gear and not give a shit

yeah I can't help but ask about early boc material. there's only 3 recordings of their shows (warp 10th anniv, warp lighthouse party, atp 2001). know of any other recordings floating out there?

  8. 1) if you were touring through the u.s. and were asked to appear on a show like conan o’brien or jimmy fallon, would you do it?

    2) do you have a recording of this show and/or any memories of what this show was like?

    3) warp’s 25th anniversary is next year. know if you’ll participate in any special events, like contribute to a warp25 box set or perform at an event? know if they have big plans?

    4) on Osla for n at 3:57 onwards, I keep thinking of 61E.CR, like how it (osla for n) has a similar beat but slowed down somewhat and also similar sounds. would you agree there are some similarities there? loving l-event btw

    5) an oversteps soundboard would be amazing to hear (and download for pay) one day

    thanks for everything

  9. thanks for answering all these questions! this is great.

I'm curious, have you heard boc's early works like acid memories, hooper bay & play by numbers?

I read somewhere once, that soon after you first listened to 'twoism', you contacted them, which eventually led to them recording 'hi scores' for skam.

so I thought maybe you've heard some of their earlier recordings. If you have heard them, what did you think?
