Salvatorin Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 I discovered Mercan Dede many years ago, before I'd even heard of electronic music or anything, and I have loved his music ever since. The album Seyahatname is his best, and its overall perfect. check out this track, its like Turkish electronic music (you may have to fast forward past the beginning) Anyone know any other music kind of like this? He does sort of a really well done mix of turkish folk music and electronics. Another album kind of like that is the Tuvan group Huun Huur Tu's "Altai Sayan Tandy-Uula" (its like the mongolian throat singing and stuff) Allot of artists do that kind of fakey world fusion, and it turns out complete shit, made by snobby rich wannabe hippy world travelers.
