Sequence for June sees us move from our current home at the old Paradise Factory venue to the more intimate Urbis Centre to stage our summer party for 2008. For those of you unaware of the venue it's the perfect stage for it, a huge, modern glass structure in the centre of Manchester with two perfectly sized rooms. For this occasion we'll be installing the biggest soundsystem we've ever put into a venue - a whopping twelve subs and eight cabs in the main room (to put it into perspective - around six times the amount of gear we used to cram into The Attic). It's going to sound seriously heavy.

The main room is an absolute beast with a headlining set from Birmingham dubstep pioneer Mick Harris. In our eyes they don't come any more legendary. Mick was the long-standing drummer of the massive UK grindcore outfit Napalm Death before leaving the group in the early 1990's to concentrate on his electronic based solo productions as Scorn. Since it's inception, with it's throbbing low-end and brooding drum programming, Scorn has explored previously unchartered musical territory, effectively re-defining the world of electronic dub and setting the standard for most of todays modern dubstep productions. A true pioneer of a sound that these days is done to death. Keeping on a similar vibe, Regis and Female will be performing a Downwards special together on the same stage. Both are huge techno producers in their own right and for our summer party we've given them the chance to show us what their legendary Birmingham based label is all about. Last up but certainly not least in the main room is Neil Landstrumm, a Sequence favourite and one of the best and most long-standing techno producers of our time. As many of you will have witnessed already, he's destroyed our stage many a time and his fierce, analogue only live sets have to be seen to be believed. Support in the main room from Andro, Naive Melody and Warehouse Project resident, and one of Manchester's finest up and coming Djs.

Given the (rare) chance of some glorious Manchester weather we're transforming the sunny bar area into a chill out room and have enlisted the services of Mixmaster Morris to run the show. Morris is one of the world's most well known and respected ambient and downbeat Dj's, recording as The Irresistible Force and releasing his music through the likes of Rising High and Ninja Tune. Support in the chill out comes from Michael Holland, the main man behind Licktronica and someone who certainly knows a thing or two about his music. Plus support from the Sequence residents over both rooms.

this is looking good!

Neil Landstrumm played two shows in Nottingham last weekend, one tech-based and a more broken-beat one the day after. had a nice chat with him and he is a top bloke too!

See you down the front
