something (one track) in the works

Recommended Posts

it's a small file, short track

download if you've ever enjoyed any of my previous work. this is perhaps much more violent and possibly less "musical" than things i've presented in the past

enjoy. it's just a preview of whats to come and i'm sort of just wanting to hear what people would think of it at this point

Man, I'll be honest, that's a total clusterfuck of a track and I didn't really enjoy it that much :( I was waiting for it to slam into something big and constant (something along the lines of LCC would've been nice lol) but it just kept moving along with little sections which didn't really grow into anything. Quite a few of them were cool though, there just wasn't much movement. If you could develop each section, then get the transitions into each section really smooth, that would be very very cool.

P.S. I still have Blank Promise on my mobile phone and I listen to it quite regularly - it's everything the last Animal Collective album should've been hehe.

thanks for listening

thats awesome that you like blank promise. i'm constantly tweaking tracklistings and titles for when i possibly release these things officially on record. it's a neverending process. anyway thanks for telling me that.

regarding this one, i definitely see what you're saying. i've been working on it for a long time now and i don't really know where it's going at all, but that's part of what i enjoy about it.

it might make it more enjoyable to know that it's intended to be listened to while laying down with headphones in the dark or with closed eyes. i don't think it's necessarily enjoyable as an active listening experience, as it isn't very musical i guess. so i don't really know what the hell the point is. the bottom line is that i've had a serious spiritual journey in making it, and i hope to dive deeper and deeper into my unconscious mind and show more of that through the music as i continue with its creation. i want the listener to be taken high. it's more about getting lost in a sonic landscape. so basically it's like ambient music that's loud and fast; you don't need to pay much attention to it, but if you want to dive into the details, there should be a lot to find.

on the other hand i made it so that it could be mentally freeing and possibly sonically orgasmic at moments. one might want to go into the listening experience with the same attitude they would going into something like john zorn, john coltrane, or any free jazz type music.

i don't like talking about my own music too much, but i think this specific recording can be helped with a little explanation.
