appalachian type folk music?

I was re-watching a doc on the American Revolution a few weeks ago just to re-orient myself with the subject matter, and the soundtrack had some fascinating pieces by this character Mark O' Connor......maybe two or three of his compositions were bearable, but they were damn good!...so anyways I find out he did a few collaborations with the one and only Yo Yo Ma....needless to say im on a huge appalachian folk kick....this stuff is highly recommended if you think you might like it...just a cello and a fiddle or banjo...very comforting to listen to.

anyway, I was curious if any WATMMers would have something to recommend me along those lines.

also, for reference, here is the one track I absolutely love:

you'll be skipping a lot of good bluegrass if you omit vocals in your search, try:

bill monroe, the stanley brothers, flatt & scruggs, doc watson, old & in the way
