digging the vibe a lot, but the mix is really flat. the drums need some distortion on them to feel right, perhaps a bitcrush. the warm melty sound in the background needs to be louder and its reverb should have a longer decay so it fills up more of the currently empty space. if you could make the plucky lead "thicker" or something, perhaps a little slower attack and some distortion as well, that would be sweet. these are just my suggestions, the song is pretty great as it stands! the only thing i'd say REALLY needs attention is the mixing -- it can be louder! don't be afraid to let your tunes rip!

^^ That is some of the most helpful feedback I have gotten, ever. Thanks big time for taking time for this.

Yes, getting the mix to sound proper is definitely my weakest point. I'll keep toying with it (esp on some of the points you brought up) to see if I can't make it sound fatter/heavier/louder.

I have noticed lately that even when my tracks get mastered and released, they still sound a bit too quiet and not as bright as the other tracks on that particular release :/ I guess I need to do more before it is sent off for mastering from now on.

More practice!

I liked the funkiness! Good track and nice breakdown!

I agree the bass sounds a little thin, maybe at more playing with the stereo spectrum?

Cheerio!

I think this would kill with some massive sub hits!

Yeah feeling this bro definitely. I think it probably sounds a little quiet as well 'cause Soundcloud has reduced the overall loudness of everyone's tunes to their own level which to me is madness!! If myspace get their act together with the bitrates then I could imagine people moving back to them as to me this is suicide from Soundcloud's perspective.

Yeah you could probably add another layer as suggested and maybe beef up the bottom end a little but that's just to get it to perfection. Pretty darn good I'd say nevertheless.
