Who's had knee surgery?

I'm due to see a specialist about it in a couple of weeks (and waiting since May) about both of my knees.

I was hungover when I saw my GP about it and lost concentration but he said something about cartilage damage, there's a click whenever I cup my hands round them and move them

Anyone else had similar experiences? I'm praying there's no need for surgery with a long recovery time as I cycle often and need to for my job I start in a few weeks.

yeah you need to put it off for a while by the sounds of it, not had any problems myself (touch wood) but i've a few mates that have had complications through footy. I suppose everyone's different but if you can still walk then you should be able to put up with it for a while, until you decide to get it done.

Will ask my mate about it actually, he's just had keyhole surgery after having someones stud through his kneecap last year :wtf:

Ah the NHS

I've left off running and football since I saw the quacks but it's getting slightly strenuous when I stand up.I think it probably starte when I was playing American football last year and took a real bad knock during a routine session, but who knows.

My work is just summer work at the Royal Mail as a sorter nonetheless so it might be the case of delaying it, really can't miss the ££££

i used to make some of the replacement parts way back when i was a machinist. i heard its a very painful surgery. hopefully you dont need it, you are probably too young.

my right knee is sooooooooooo fuct, Ive blown it out nearly double digits now, people say look into surgery but I know it will be waay to fucking expensive so I don't bother, a lot of people just keep having to get surgery over and over so I'm just trying to learn how to make it stronger and deal with it. its pretty lame

i tore the ACL. hurt like nothing before.

then had an arthroscopy because bending the knee was too painful. that arthroscopy hurt like nothing before.

after that i tried to live my life without the ACL, but my knee started to hurt minutes into any physical activity. so i decided to go with the reconstruction surgery. i was way too slow/lazy with the recovery, but now (almost 3 years after the reconstruction) it's finally completely okay.

bottom line - if you get arthroscopy, make sure they don't do it just in local anesthesia, because that shit HURTS.
