Obama administration readies indefinite detention order for Guantanamo detainees

The Obama administration is preparing an executive order that would formalize indefinite detention without trial for some detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, but allow those detainees and their lawyers to challenge the basis for continued incarceration, U.S. officials said.

The administration has long signaled that the use of prolonged detention, preferably at a facility in the United States, was one element of its plan to close Guantanamo. An interagency task force found that 48 of the 174 detainees remaining at the facility would have to be held in what the administration calls prolonged detention.

sweet, the ACLU, Amnesty International and the Red Cross all have determined Obama's human rights record is abominable, but the Noble Peace Prize cancels all that out right? Because we all know the Prize is only reserved for the most peaceful individuals like Henry Kissinger.

scroll to around the 2nd part of this broadcast to hear a pretty good breakdown on all of the Bush like Obama policies and how Obama has continued torture, indefinite detention and the erosion of our civil liberties

(new radio show im doing with my sister)

Edit: this is kind of old news, i dont know why the story is going around again. Last year he already announced a new 'lawful' way to handle Gitmo

it's actually a quasi legal 3 tiered justice system. They will select at their choosing Gitmo prisoners to be either

a) tried before a military court

b) tried before a civilian court (very unlikely anybody will get this, more of a platitude)

c) indefinite detention

my question is whats even the point of feigning going about this legally or in a justice seeking way? you are already openly admitting to indefinitely detaining people with NO CHARGES.
