The mix feels fairly solid, I think the hithat section (from .59-1.40 odds) is the main thing I'd play with, as you already noted. Perhaps just make them a little lower in the mix and try some EQ treatment to make them a bit less jarring. Really, it's a minor thing though, thought the track was good! I think the hi hats are at the wrong pitch basically try transposing them by about 6-8 notes and see how they sound after that. It's a completely different type of track, the comparison is kind of weird (unless you just wanted to think of a random song that is shorter but better - I could probably do that too).
