I enjoyed it! The whole guitar(?) riff is really smooth/legato, the drums are busy enough to be interesting without being crazy, etc. If I'm being honest the structure's a little forgettable, but for what it is it's very chill. As a side note, the whole low-pass(?) tweaking torward the end is a highlight.

Thanks a lot, mate! I agree, the structure is definitely nothing special and the track just kinda floats along. A couple days ago this track existed only on my ipod shuffle since my old computer crashed. Luckily I was able to salvage it. Unfortunately that meant I could only work with the WAV file, so it was tough to do any major editing. The filters were kinda thrown in at the end as an afterthought, so glad you enjoyed it!

sounds great. and that sucks about your comp. the only thing that i would change would be the delay on the guitar. cause it drowns out the track a bit. if it would only repeat twice then it would sound great.

Thanks Frankie. Ya know that was actually the goal...make the guitar kind of a big, dripping, morphing sheet of sound. I agree, perhaps it could be mixed a little lower. Can't change it now though.

I really like this track. Gives me the same vibe as Oriol's "Night and Day" album, or maybe Tropic's "Parodia Flare"...

I'm sorry I have nothing constructive to say.

Appreciate it! Good ear too, I was in fact listening to a bunch of Oriol when I was working on this track. So I take that as a huge compliment.

Can't wait to hear your next track! Do you have bandcamp?

I do not. I'd like to start putting my music up on there with a "pay what you'd like" option, but I really need to compile some sort of cohesive release with some artwork etc.

Bunch of other trax up on my soundcloud for further listening if you are so inclined.

Way ahead of ya! :emotawesomepm9:

So far I really like the deep housey vibe of Homegrown and Sprung.

I grew up listening to a lot of tech house (James Zabiela etc) so these kind of tracks are kind of a throwback for me. (I hope that isn't offensive somehow...)

Glad to have found your music. Cheers!

Ha, I'm friends with Alex P on soundcloud, he does make some quality stuff eh? I have "homegrown" in my loved tracks as a matter of fact.

Here's the rest of my tunes: https://soundcloud.com/the-yfc

Considering your taste for the deep, you might especially like this one (unfinished)

The space in the mix of the first track is really good; bright but with a nice degree of depth and stereo width.

I agree with what vletrmx says above, In terms of taking it further, the structure needs to evolve, some sort of key change, melodic/rhythmic progression would be worth exploring, but as you've had a computer meltdown (sorry to hear that), I guess this one is now lost to the ether...

2nd unfinished track: like the way it builds in the first half, and how you bring in all the various elements, that all feels really tight, and the second half is pretty good too. I'd look again at the drum roll at 53 secs, it feels slightly jerky, and, in general the hi-hats could be a fraction lower in the mix (maybe), and perhaps fit more tightly with that chunky synth line, but that's more of a subjective thing as to whether you want the rhythm to be a bit loose and spacious, or precision-welded in place, both approaches work.

Nice microhouse-type stuff, man.

I've given most of your tunes a good listen now and I must say I'm impressed! Great stuff. Any plans to put together a compilation? I would buy lots of this off bandcamp!

Thanks a ton for the constructive criticism! I will absolutely take it into consideration whenever I get around to working on that track. Been listening to such a wide range of music and starting so many projects it's hard to finish anything!

Thanks mate, that means a lot. I really do have just tons and tons of material and I'm sure I could put together quite a few semi-cohesive releases. Problem is, I have a hard time going back and working on older material. It just doesn't feel....relevant. So I lose a lot of inspiration when trying to "complete" old tracks (like that ever really happens) and sequence everything to make a logical release.

It really does make me happy when people enjoy what I make, so perhaps I really should get around to it.

I was thinking about throwing some stuff up with a 'pay what you'd like' option as I don't want to deter people from downloading if there is a definite price. I really don't equate my music with money at all, so it's kind of a strange situation for me.

Any input on pricing?

nice airy high energy chill out track. nice job with the filtering

Really appreciate it. Glad everyone is enjoying the vibe, mixing, and track in general.

Definitely will be working on my sequencing and track development in my coming projects.

No input on pricing really! That's kind of a tough topic isn't it? I mean, it probably means a lot to you and it might be difficult to have other people value it for you?

I'm just glad I happened across your music =)
