  1. sounds like they read a comment on the internet saying 'electronic music is not real music' and got offended so picked up a bunch of real instruments and made an album with them without really knowing how to use them. i guess they are going for this retro-funk glossy disco kind of thing and I was psyched for that but it has come out pretty cheesy and just ultimately boring imo... the whole concept could have been totally badass but its just... making me want to turn it off. it needs to be shorter at least, or not kick off with such a tight cluster of boring/slow/cheesy songs (1st track is pretty good though, despite going nowhere)

  2. I emailed Bleep and asked them if they would consider offering the 16bit WAV/FLAC or 24bit WAV to people who preordered a physical copy. I thought they would have done anyway as they do with other big Warp names like Autechre and Brian Eno, I mean don't get me wrong I would love to throw money at BoC all day but that doesn't necessarily mean I can, and seeing as anyone who preorders has a lossless copy anyway (although not in digital form with vinyl) I don't see why they shouldn't let you redeem a digital version of it.

  3. Do physical preorders get a lossless download? They did with Exai and other more recent Ae releases so I don't see why not, but all it says is 'CD and Vinyl purchases come with MP3 download delivered to your account on release date'. Really want those 24bit WAVs but don't really want to have to fork out for the album twice (student budget).

  4.

    6852 and ts1a would fit snugly inside this album, especially 6852. do i remember reading that it was a solo rob track or was that bullshit?

    Regarding solo track by Rob it was pure speculation. There is a certain vision of what's Sean could do best and what Rob. Like first Exai track very well could be Sean solo and second track could be Rob's solo.

    T ess xi actually contains slightly modified beats from Ts1a, though.

    Don't get the hate towards second part of recks on at all. Definitely one of the highlights.

    Ts1a = T ess 1a ---> T ess xi

  5. i always associate Ae albums with landscapes, for example for me Chiastic was always a world made of cogs and gears and steam powered machinery, confield was like an barren alien planet, draft like an alternate dimension, untilted like harsh desert, quaristice like underwater, oversteps icy mountains and glaciers

    ... Exai is definitely outer space

  6. Do you think the release of this album will be similar to that of Quaristice / Oversteps in that:

    - 12 hour DJ mix to promote release

    - digital unexpectedly released a month or so early

    - companion EP announced a few months after physical release

    the last one probably not considering the sheer amount of material on Exai... still, I'd be pretty damn happy about any of those

  8. I have no idea

    Wouldn't have used it if i knew it conjured up such terrible images lol

    And, I'm sure there are lots of young Autechre fans around, maybe even on this board?!

    17 year old Ae fanboy reporting in. Also: first post, hello.
