No but just like at least make it convincing enough that it contrasts with the unrealisticness of Barbieland

I just don't think it was that kind of film, it's all concept and japes and pink stuff really isn't it.

Wow! Thanks! I've seen half of those, some of my favourites in there - will add the others to my "watch these films" list!

Silence of the Lambs, mentioned in the timeout article is definitely making a point about how Clarice is treated as weak, disrespected and ogled derisively, in a way that feels way more authentic than the equivalent scene in Barbie, when she first comes to the real world, which feels more like a caricature, but I guess that might just be a difference of style

Yeah, they really needed a scene in Barbie where someone says "I can smell your c*nt!" and she shots a serial killer.

went to see Barbie - it was ok, couple original moments nothing wow, but had a laugh with my mates, so worth it, and we had reclining leather comfy seats and a little table for booze

I thought it was really funny, if a bit twee and corny.

  4. The Gulf Stream system could collapse as soon as 2025, a new study suggests. The shutting down of the vital ocean currents, called the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (Amoc) by scientists, would bring catastrophic climate impacts.

Amoc was already known to be at its weakest in 1,600 years owing to global heating and researchers spotted warning signs of a tipping point in 2021.

The new analysis estimates a timescale for the collapse of between 2025 and 2095, with a central estimate of 2050, if global carbon emissions are not reduced. Evidence from past collapses indicates changes of temperature of 10C in a few decades, although these occurred during ice ages.
