Fuck every opinion in this thread. Inner city guy crouched between shopping carts ? is the authority on this Aphex shit now. I haven’t heard anything outside of the lead single yet but I KNOW this is the most accurate take.

This guy is actually great. Subbed.

  2. A cliche at this point to say that AFX music grows on you.. but now that I have the flacs... I've been unable to stop listening to all 4 tracks over and over and keep changing what my "favorite" is. I was in the "quite good" camp after first hearing it (on a crap rip,*cough*). but shit, I love it actually. My analysis that no one is asking for is..'In a Room' is the clear single and gets better and better on repeat listens. Shit loads of detail and awesome/unexpected melodic passages and effects throughout, and the rest have what I would say a SAW era meditative quality/atmosphere but don't overstay their welcome (wish they were longer actually). Its 4 tracks I could loop for a veeery long time.

  3. 4 solid tracks. Nothing more, nothing less (to my ears). Didn't hear a single middle finger in this, which I appreciate as it's so damn short. There also seems to be a theme throughout.. sort of like Cheetah. I have a feeling the voice elements are very weirdly or difficultly produced and he is showing that off.

  4. A pretty hilarious fake is floating around the seeking of souls. "track 2" made me lol quite a bit. It's "Richard" of Effects Twin introducing the next 2 tracks and even giving instructions in how to listen to them and thanking you for the support. Rich even has a very thick american accent. It's good stuff.

  5. Was at a local record store and tried playing dumb (not hard to do. dudunch) and asked if they had it. The dude said "yep!" and before I could say anything else "but I can't sell it yet".. then said "it's good dude" and just grinned. Wanted to jump behind the counter lol. I've been sort of staunchly not wanting to buy this one due to how expensive 4 tracks are.. but who am I kidding, if I see this in the wild I'll feverishly throw money at it.

As a Aphex Twin fan. I’m also very keen to hear these tracks. Especially the first, second, third and fourth. In that order. ASAP.

I might play the B side first. That's right.. I said it.. and I hope Ooze is right. More aphex is always good and appreciated.. but it's just feeling likely. These shows are bonkers and new tracks are cropping up like crazy. More is likely on the way.. and not in 7 years.

Can't believe that track was sitting there for 3 years and I didn't know haha. Thanks.

I wish Blackbox Life Recorder would be a EP like this

    0:00: prememory100N pt2
    6:13: m11st lon
    9:32: rfc pt8
    13:44: afxfm e
    16:39: 4x Atlantis take 1
    20:28: Soundlab20
    27:26: s8v1 [brooklyn]

30 minutes and just a very blended dark dubby mix of tracks

Holy shit. That first track I remember from a live gig and loving it. Where did this high quality version come from? Not remembering it from the SC Dump even..Also, anyone know general time period it was made? That is Aphex at his best IMO. Haunting and endlessly listenable that one.

  9. Wow! Much better tracks that I thought they would be. Is the first from .. Field Day? I know I've heard it. Melodic acid gem right there. For the love of all that is holy, please release the digitals at some point.

  10. Currently playing Street Fighter 6 and loving every second of it.. while getting completely destroyed online. I've also been having an insatiable urge for SNES on a CRT.. so splurged and got both along with a cartridge with a micro SD port for roms. Been loving retro gaming lately. Something about the immediacy of these games is appealing after so many cut scene heavy, handholding modern games. Sometimes a SHMUP is all you really need.

  11. Finally got the chance to hear it on an ok system and it sounds very nice. Really full. The track isn't a mindblower by any means but a simply "nice" aphex tune doesn't hurt sometimes and surely won't be skipped in my playlists. Still think '1st 44' is his best show off track since the early 2000s. Not sure how much love that track has but I think that is him at his most accomplished and least nostalgic.

I canceled my vinyl order today

    Why?

$60 (including shipping) for 3 unheard short tracks is just not worth it for me.
If it was a 2x vinyl album with more tracks I would totally be down for that!
I will buy the digital downloads only now.

Also this first track has not grown on me.. It is a pretty raw and just straight forward hunting Aphex-Loop
Would fit on a B-Side or Bonus for Collapse EP and Nice to listen on a cold dark winter afternoon.

I wish the track were more bouncy happy with catchy melodies for the summer.. Exactly like the tunes he played live!
Or Take "4 bit 9d api+e+6" for example instant banger!

I hope people here are happy with their purchase anyway! :aphexsign:

Don't blame you one bit. That is ridiculous. I had some store credit on Jeff Bezo' e-commerce platform so impulsively ordered from there. Don't think I would have if I didn't have the credit.

I am dying for one of the releases to have this.

That is sounding reeeally nice. So much new stuff in his shows lately. And it's sounding very developed as well... Not striking me as more vault material, djing "tools" or even freebies. Really feels like there is another EP or possibly album on the way.

Cheetah ep is a fantastic album, hearing it years later, i think its perfect.

That album rollout was epic 2 ?

I LOVE Cheetah EP as well. It's the one I go back to more than any others (from the last 10 years or so). It's just as timeless as his older stuff imo. Have great memories associated with it too.

  15. Another release.. another unsolicited barrage of speculation, opinions and over excitement from me..

This is the first track I've immediately really enjoyed from the pre-release singles of the "modern era". Minipops underwhelmed, still not a fan of T69 Collapse, and Cheetah was just ok. All of those releases had some of my all-time favorite tracks though...

This track hits the spot.. so if this is the low-key entry point to the release.. or series of releases (one can dream) like the other singles, We're in for a real treat I think.

it's all good, You're going to rub off the wrong way on some people, that's just how it goes. I'd definitely describe her as energetic but she is just a super fangirl.

It was great when Richard changed the title of one of his tracks to 'tracktitle [jessica cortes mix]. It was sweet and I'm sure made her damn day.
