Digging the tracks. Excited to hear the legit digitals.

The leak is *brutally harsh*. Listening now with soothe and tdr arbiter on. It’s also straight up mono.

Im reminded of Lambeth i think? Available for years as a low res netradio rip then finally released legitimately. And the official release sounded exactly as bad as the radio rip bootleg.

Re NTS shows: thru a lil' internet magic and elbow grease I was able to capture Mixcloud's HQ streams (for the 4 shows thus far) and extract the rich, juicy audio from the .webm files (they're Opus codec, ~180 - 200 kbps).  If of interest to any fellow luxury sonicians, holla at ya boi :datboi:

Also, still really enjoying this album!

inneresting. I really aPpreciate the music on these radio Mshows

  3. Great record but not really new or upcoming as it came out summer of ‘22 if i recall.

Glad to hear from a fellow Pathway appreciator. It truly is the greatest achievement in vaporwave. Pathway surpasses other pillars of the genre and plays on a wider more expansive field somehow as a plain ol *great record* I really rate it.

Diva’s Paradise is a worthy follow up to the perfection of Pathway. My enjoyment of it has grown and expanded over the past year. It’s a darker atmosphere than Pathway. My preschool aged son likes to listen to it with me while he doesn’t respond to Pathway much at all. A year later and I feel even more fondly that upon intial release, a good sign of good work.

One complaint: THE EXTREME SHARP HIGH END. Diva’s Paradise lights up my tinnitus like wildfire. I have to be choosy about where and when and at what volume I listen to it. Heaphones, out of the question. I keep intending to make a custom rolled off personal remaster so I can jam it more and more casually. It lights my ears up like few other things do. Wackies tracks, Mark Fell’s work. The tambourine in Simon and Garfunkel singles.

    Still, a great record!!

They sometimes are, though...albeit unseriously it seems. That said, I do really appreciate those live "exclusives" sets with the made-up names (which I simply don't pay attention to).

Mostly I see “that bit at 26 minutes in Helsinki” etc.

I asked Sean if the piece in this video had a name, simply because it was my favorite part of the 2015 soundboards. He said he probably made something up for PRS forms, but nothing more permanent than that

those would be legitimate made up names

I've made what has turned out to be an excellent room recording of Sydney (August 28 2023). I will share it tomorrow somehow. Where do people tend to host these files, even if initially only? The mp3 is 173 MB.

great, excited to hear it. https://wetransfer.com works well and can handle up to 2gb for free so a flac or wav can fit as well.

  6. The monitor placement fits a little too neatly into the overall visual presentation style to be purely about sound imo. I think the fact that it blocks view is also part of it. A convenient bonus perhaps, but big speakers directly in front of the performers who play in the dark without any visual andornment adds an extra layer of humor to me.

Any chance someone who downloaded the Warp Tapes 89-93 from the bleepstore when it was available can post the MD5 hashes of the two WAVs?

here you go, checksum created today with xACT for the wavs I downloaded from the AE_STORE in 2019

  8. The idea of the ‘22 set being more accessible than the previous two AE_LIVE sets is quite humorous to me. Huge chunks of ‘22, heck most of it, sound like three or more songs being played at the same time. It’s taken me *a lot* of listens to Helsinki to start to form solid shapes in my mind with this slab of tunes. None of the circulating tapes helped, it seemed like un-bootlegable music.  The previous two live sets were virtually instantaneous comprehension on some level comparatively. For me.

Of course everyone hears and experiences things differently.

That said I am immensely enjoying these. All the work I put into Helsinki has paid off and everything is blooming with the added context of the other dates.

  9. Found it! around 01:25:00 in the first Twitch AMA from June 5th 2022 Sean talks about The Warp Tapes and mentions that he and Rob had to "..rebuild the Lego Feet thing..." for the 2011 reissue. Thought it was an interesting and undiscussed bit of info.

  10. Was it mentioned in these that the 2011 rerelease of Lego Feet was reconstruction, a recreated master mix from the old tapes and DATs? Or did I imagine that? I guess I could listen again to all 47 hours of these AMAs to find out.

No party ruination here, all seems like good news. It is slightly suspicious that this excellent recording which is also quite different from any of the bootlegs that I've previously encountered would appear in 2021. Does anyone think it could be a skillful reproduction using the Elektron patches / sequences? I'm not saying that I believe it to be that, just that it's curious timing and departure-ish enough.

Doubt it’s a reproduction. Certainly sounds authentic.

If you look at the taper’s other uploads it seems they were actively taping shows around the time of this one and that they’ve been uploading a bunch of their old tapes in the last couple of years.

I agree it’s kinda strange an ‘08 show of this quality seemingly passed everyone by. When that better source on Domino 2010 popped up it seemed to generate some excitement pretty quickly if i recall. Not that many downloads on this ‘08 show when i looked. I guess it has been a couple of years since i checked the Autechre tag on archive.org so who knows. Does seem weird tho

Weird, unless @Lime68k changed it or hit some sort of Soundcloud limit ... Can't actually get the download button to download at all now

thanks for checking. judging by this thread it seems the soundcloud download experience is all over the map. strange stuff

The download button on the Soundcloud embed in the first post is the 'raw' full quality .wav (it's 1 point something gig I seem to remember)

How did you get the wav? The 128 mp3 I posted a link to earlier in the thread is all I can get from the soundcloud DL button

Which track from elseq are we hearing part of here? I love this set (I think this Youtube version is actually better quality than the file that I have...), but I'm not connecting this with elseq. There's that bit that made it onto tuinorizn, though.

  15. I have listened on several different systems of mine, headphones speakers car, and never thought the tape was lacking in highs or too bassy. On every listen I appreciated an unusual silken delicacy to the tonal balance. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just applied some limiting to their raw capture, it has that sort of quality and it will be interesting to compare this version to the “proper” release later on.  It sounds plain ol *weird* and i loved that it didnt activate my tinnitus. I did not interpret that quality as a lack of high end, I just enjoyed it. I think some folks hear strident sharp highs as extra detail while I tend to just hear extra pain.

William Fields does have a point, sort of. Having tried his recommend setting on my last listening I can understand how the Helsinki soundboard could seem a bit rolled off on the high end to someone. 9db is entirely too much though. Insanely too much IMO. Crazy territory. But he has a point...sort of

The music itself is wonderful. I've had frustrating sessions where it didnt make sense and just sounded like a dude scraping a piano string accompanied by a bed spring and a tamagotchi 303 alligator. I've had listens where it all congealed for me and the world was beautiful. I see lots of mention of 48 min onward. I nominate the middle 20 or so minutes...somewhere between 22:00-48:00 (who knows where bits enter and exit with this set) as some of the most humorous and ridiculous jams I have ever heard. The balls on these guys! "this is our live set"

    It's great.

nice! Thank you for sharing. One of the better sounding tapes of this tour so far and the material itself seems different than other shows to me.

Curious what is the best quality tape that’s surfaced so far? Other than Helsinki official of course. I haven’t followed super closely so I might be missing a good capture but before the Helsinki soundboard i’d settled on a homemade “remaster” of this recording
