  1. Don't want to interrupt anything but did anyone see RA's new policies? https://www.residentadvisor.net/features/3716

    • We will publish work by at least six new Black writers on RA across July and August, across reviews and features
    • At least 30% of individual bylines in RA features in 2020 will come from BIPOC writers
    • At least 50% of RA Podcasts in 2020 will come from BIPOC artists
    • At least 70% of Rewind reviews for the rest of 2020 to focus on Black electronic music records
    • Deeper and more frequent coverage of predominantly Black genres
    • A feature series dedicated to telling the underrepresented histories of electronic music
    • A major, ongoing historical series dedicated to exploring the origins of key electronic music genres
    • Changes to our Style Guide—for instance, capitalising Black when used in a racial, ethnic or cultural context, and ensuring writers do not give undue emphasis to an artist's nationality or ethnicity
    • We will publish RA's editorial integrity guidelines by end of August

They try really hard, it's something. Always considered them to be as much as possible a "woke" site with already a big emphasis on black (Black?) musicians and non-male people etc. The difference with their thinkpieces and end of year lists is kinda in your face from that perspective even... at least compared to most other outlets, but maybe that's the point. They just sound so apologetic while they're THE site of their topic and size that have been pushing that "narrative" for ages, man. Don't know what to think of it...

  2. What's the difference from the originals? The dubbing? There's no difference in the plot or different cuts or there is?
The Netflix one apparently had some crucial lines translated differently that would

make Kaworu and Shinji's relationship not gay all of a sudden

    and fans were outraged.

I reached out to this guy a while back to see if we could license one of his tracks. His agent/manager responded saying he didn't want to press anything to vinyl because of the environmental impact of vinyl production, but if I had a way to manufacture vinyl that was environmentally friendly (i.e. not using vinyl) he'd consider it. I replied saying we could release something on cassette only and just use recycled cassettes (ie. recording over previously used cassettes). Strangely, I never heard back.

    LOL this is pretty hilarious

Anyways, stoked for a new FB album but he'll never top the old ones I'm afraid. + cover art not to my liking

  4. I just finished everything there is to see in the Legend of the Galactic Heroes realm (except for the reboot but gonna wait until that one is finished and watch it in one go).

If there's one anime I would recommend (after watching plenty of them, including most classics) it's this one. Never have I ended a series and thought 'welp, this was probably about as good as it can get. What can I watch after this that won't pale in comparison to this masterpiece?'

I'm really fond of First Casualty (Whities 017) so quite likely I'll give this a spin

You should check out his Akira remix album, great stuff (under the name Bwana, which he now dropped). Didn't have the time to go through this one but I know it's gonna be good so I want to listen to it in a dark room with my eyes closed and two succubi whispering the beats into my ears.

  6. Jojo pt. 5 is absolutely amazing so far, will the series ever be surpassed holy shit.

Watching Darling In The Franxx and loving it. It's like a 2018 NGE with a vaporwavey feel. Animation sometimes a bit too 'cartoonish' for my taste.

Just finished Mob Psycho 100 - Season 2 and it was as great as the first one.

Boku No Hero Academia total shitshow, I dont get the appeal. First two seasons were boring, third made me finally drop it.

Also tried Zombieland Saga, also dropped because it seemed like everything why people hate anime.

Goblin Slayer very good, very very very good. Specifically enjoyed it as a D&D player myself.

Parasyte cool concept but meh storyline and ever more meh animation.

Samurai Champloo extremely comfy. I get why it's in all the 'must see' lists. Got the Cowboy Beebop feeling on all fronts (although I enjoyed the latter's animation more). Also, the hiphop elements deteriorated the quality of the series imho.

Food Wars was fun to see people explode out of their clothes only to be rescued by princes disguised as the food they were eating. Other than those moments, the show was very bland and boring. It did make me Hungary, though.

Currently really anticipating Attack on Titan - Season 3.
