  1. Sine Mora - gonna get back to the good old days when I mastered shooters and could clear them on one life...

BTW, Sine Mora is available not only for PS3/Vita, but also Xbox 360 and Steam - at 9.99 it's a steal for such a gorgeous game and with so many challenges...

Hey can we play Vita games on the ps3?

No, well, sort of - some games offer what Sony calls "cross-play" where you play on either PS3 or Vita, then pick up where you left off on either console, as well as play against players on the opposite platform.

yeah, and actually a cool thing they are doing is called "cross-buy" where you only have to buy the one game on the PS3 and you get the Vita version for free. its a pretty cool idea.

I guess I was wondering because I do not have a vita, but would like to be able to play the games without one. So I'm assuming on the cross play games, you still must own a vita?

  2. I got resident evil 5 for free from ps+.... Holy shit what a disappointment. It's basically a 3rd person zombie shoot-em-up. They really dropped the ball with that one. I'm sure RE6 is probably more of the same. It seems really hard too, and that's coming from someone who beat Dark Souls up to NG+++. Fuck this game. DELETED.

  3. Still trying to beat Manus on New Game+ in the Dark Souls DLC... as a fairly lightweight faith build, he is a total beast. I envy those strength builds that just hold up their great shield whenever he attacks.

Don't forget to summon Sif and possibly another person. I"m using a lightweight sorcery build and it wasn't too bad, although now that I think about it, for that fight, I popped on Havel's ring and put on some heavier armor.

  4. The original Dead Space wasn't all that scary, but the ambiance was fantastic, and i miss the oldskool Resident Evil type inventory/shoot em' up gaming...maybe ill try 2....my only complaint with the first one was that was a little too long. just playing it for the sake of getting it done.

Ok, quick question. I see that Demons and Dark SOuls are 20 bucks each.....should I buy the first one for sake of story, or is it really all that relevant in the larger scheme of things?

I haven't played Demon Souls, but Dark Souls in honestly the best gaming experience I've had since I was a kid. So many different ways to play it, and the controls are lush. The lore runs DEEP, but isn't spoon fed to you. Shit, most of the lore you get is from reading item descriptions. That said, it's a great way to tell a story, because of the ambiguity. The game is more about action than story though, and it is SATISFYING. The replay value is through the roof. I must have put in over 350 hours since I got it in May. That's over twice what I put into skyrim, and I thought I LOVED skyrim... The difficulty is slightly exaggerated imo. Granted, it is TOUGH, but you get better. After a bit, you'll be slicing your way all the way to Gwyn.

I bought the Dark Souls DLC on Friday and started a new character. I'm almost to the point where I feel comfortable accessing the new areas, I'm just going to get the crystal spells from big hat logan 1st, as I'm playing a mage that also wields a uchigatana. INT/DEX build.

  5. I'm still enjoying Mass Effect 2, but it's such an awkwardly paced game, with the deluge of team loyalty missions after the first skirmish with the Collectors.

I've also spent like 35 hours on errand side missions and stripping planets of natural resources to build up huge reserves, so the weird pacing is partially my fault, but I like to be prepared.

One major gripe with the game: one of the planets on the Overlord DLC has absolutely ungodly awful ground textures on the PS3, which is a shame because the planet looks like it was probably beautifully designed (with the Hammerhead AI alerting the player to upcoming scenic vistas). I'm going to blame that on EA. Poor bioware.

Ugh, yeah, you play like me. All those extra minerals are useless btw. Once I got to a certain point, I just opened each planet to see if there was any anomalies and left it at that. I've gotten every upgrade so far, and I'm tying up loose ends before I go to the omega 4 relay or whatever.

  6. I got my PS3 and skyrim in april, and have never had one problem, other than atrocious load times. I was miffed when I found out the ps3 was probably never going to get the DLC, but I no longer care as Dark Souls has ruined skyrim for me pretty much.

Just beat Infamous 2 last night as a good guy. Fun, but it got a little repetitive in the last third of the game. I also started playing Outland and Little Big Planet 2 (THANK YOU FOR THE FREE MONTH OF PS+ IGN). The atmosphere and gameplay in outland is amazing. Little big planet is fun so far, but the controls leave a bit to be desired.

  7. You mean Erez747's Trophy count - he caught up to me, exceeded me, and left me in the dust! Granted, I don't have much time these days to play games as much as I did...

Anyone dig into the Dark Souls DLC yet? Planning on downloading that next week and see what they added...

lol yeah i just added him and.... damn. damn.

DS DLC... It's my step-daughter's birthday tomorrow, so between party and presents, $ is tied up... hopefully next week. I hear nothing but good things though.
