quaristice is their most refined, subtle album. it's about the mood each piece creates.
it's also my favorite
theyve always just gotten better with each and every album, whether or not people realize it at first
though of course thats arguable

listening to Quaristice to celebrate - at this point it's safe for me to say that Autechre will probably never release anything that I don't end up loving

i really would love to hear more of the hafler trio (as of now I've only heard the autechre collab, which i love) but it's way too hard to find any

i can't seem to get into any of his other music. i suppose if i had been younger when i discovered him i would be more partial to it
for me electronic artists like meat beat manifesto are infinitely better - i feel that mouse on mars, meat beat and friends deserve much more discussion than venetian snares gets, but i very rarely ever see them being brought up. for instance, the album "actual sounds and voices" by meat beat manifesto is what i would call a masterpiece, and it is one that is widely ignored and forgotten while violently sub-par (in my opinion of course) albums like "rossz etc" (the classical venetian snares album) are constantly being discussed.
that said, venetian snares is probably just not for me, and i'm being cynical and an asshole by saying all of this. i've enjoyed some of his work very, very much (making orange things, surprisingly), and learned a lot about electronic music from him, but i needed to offer a different opinion than those that have been popping up in this thread / express my feelings on this matter

excellent, really enjoying it, more so than polygon cities
i can tell this group is going to be in my mix for a while to come. i love the atmosphere they set up, though it can be a bit menacing at times

i'll have to check out every last thing they've done. seems like theyre quite creative and musically intelligent.

id say at weed i was dead and i didn't know it. shrooms were good once or twice but after that they ruined my brain chemistry and made me paranoid and anxious from a horrible trip. now i'm pretty much a chemical addict. no single drug really, just anything to make me not bored. if i could go back in time i would have done shrooms once and never smoked weed.
i don't smoke anymore thank fod - i think that one is the worst for me. makes me very unstable.
