    Also, so no word on mastering? Is anyone else hearing the dullness of these recordings, or am I losing my mind? I'm loving a lot of the release, so I don't mean the tracks are dull but the actual sound of the tracks is very...gray. there's no brightness and the dynamics are weaker than much of their recent work...but very much like the AE_LIVE soundboards, they had that dull mush to them. Someone else has to be hearing this...

    I 100% am with you on this.. the release sounds flat, especially compared to past Autechre releases.

    If i may put on my audiophile dork hat for a second.. i've listened to this on floor standing KEF speakers and also through Chord Mojo with Ultrasone headphones, i can say for certain this release wasn't mastered in the same way past Autechre releases have been. The sonics of the album are overall flat, nothing jumps out and the highs almost sound clipped.

    This takes nothing away from the release for me, i love it and still think its their best in years. I just find it interesting that the mastering came out the way it did.

    why do you think the mastering is to blame for?

    I'm not necessarily blaming the mastering, if the sounds aren't there in the master recording it's going to be hard for a mastering tech to bring it up to snuff. But the release does not sound like an Autechre release in terms of clarity or dynamic range.

  3. Not even fucking around.. this shit is easily my favorite Ae release in many years.

    I think if they released this as two albums back to back a few months apart it would have made a bigger impact as it's easier to digest 2 hours of tracks like these than 4.5 hours of tracks like these.

  4. I just noticed something.. i bought/downloaded the FLAC files and when playing in most players i only see the main album artwork but when playing in the Fidelia app i'm seeing each track's artwork come up as the track comes on.

    So the track artwork is embedded into the FLAC file? I didn't realize that was possible.

  5. damn ae! i can not dl yet, but is it along the lines of the live stuff? is it "difficult", noisy or groovy?

    It's definitely their most hip-hop and DJ friendly release in many years.

  6. well, i can firmly say that the ae brothers have reinvented hip-hop yet again

    Yes, esleq 1 definitely is heavy on the hip-hop. The percussion reminds me more of what is used on Gescom releases than Autechre's.

    anyone else getting this error? I've already paid but trying to download:

    <Error>
    <Code>AccessDenied</Code>
    <Message>Access denied</Message>
    </Error>

    I did once, then i logged out then logged back in and now it's working, downloading the FLAC now.

  8. Downloading FLAC now... hoping there isn't going to be a physical release, that would be wack promoting the digital then releasing vinyl/CD later.

  9. Just got my vinyl and CD copies from Bleep (i'm in San Francisco).

    The artwork is amazing and i love the dayglo yellow on the inside of all the sleeves which gets me high when i shove my head into the sleeve and take a few good hard huffs.

    I feel like the digital/online version of the artwork doesn't come across as being the complete thing, you kinda have to see the transparency of the sleeves in person to understand it.

    Either way, good shit.
