Yeah. I don't understand why they didn't do a comprehensive reissue of all the Gas material on vinyl. It's not like they weren't going to sell. Come on now...
-
They also need to reissue Oktember.

Cashew chicken from this really good Thai restaurant down the street. 10/10.

Music Has The Right To Children is extremely mediocre to me. I'm sure that will upset EVERYONE ON HERE, but hey ho.
Anyway, really enjoying Gas thus far. I've heard it before but never fully/properly. I'm focusing on the first album for now and it's very enjoyable. Track 3 is my favourite atm. I accidently pressed repeat on track 3 (instead of repeat the whole album) the other day whilst tidying my apartment and I didn't even notice for about 40 mins. Funny.
I've listened to Zauberberg once and it sounded like it had a something to different to offer (in comparison to the first). I'm don't think I'm ready to move on from the first one yet though.
Looking forward to hearing Pop as I've read that's the "sunniest".
Don't forget Königsforst.

I think he was referring to The Sound Of Decay. Could be wrong though.
-
is that the blues track? i had to stop listening and wash my tongue the last time it came on.
2nd to last track. And yeah, I don't want it to be there either. If I end up picking this up, I'll just delete it.
-
I don't think I've ever heard anything like The Sound Of Decay. That track is fucking wild. I wonder what he sampled for that main groove. Really nasty.
-
Yeah I shouldn't be talking. Off the top of my head, it took me awhile to gravitate towards Thomas Koner and Taylor Deupree's music. I know there's others in my library that I didn't like right off the bat.
-
I listened to this once and hated it. Maybe I should have another go.
how the fuck is this even possible?
-
btw these are both fantastic.
Yeah I found those to be really interesting. Will have to look for more from this Slices dvd. Thomas Fehlmann seems like a really chill dude, haha.
An interview with Dylan Carlson (I think Adrienne Davies is in it at some point, don't remember) from the Hibernaculum DVD:

Picked up some Parry LPs as well.

Fuckin' a.

Bottom of first page. The RA stream may not be up anymore though.

Haha this awesome. Nice 'Rock With You' drum fill sample at the start of 'I Love U'. I wish the end of 'Strom' was the whole song.

Not a problem. Some other ambient labels that seem to generally go unnoticed here:

Same. I've been familiar with the label for years, and have enjoyed releases here and there, but I didn't really "get" most of it till last year, especially Taylor Deupree's work.

Yeah I mean there's so many different styles and vibes with ambient music. Beyond that, some artists just stand out by their production, where the elements in a Carbon Based Lifeforms song, for example, sound cheap. Biosphere sounds nothing like Taylor Deupree, for instance, even in mood. Different approaches in sound design, composition, etc., just like any genre.

Bersarin Quartett is amazing. Is anyone familiar with the solo works of Jean-Michel or Thomas Bücker?
Still loving A Winged Victory for the Sullen btw.
I saw them on their 2011 tour. Pretty remarkable.
