    LOL @ watermark. Never proven.

    Considering what most Autechre sounds like, how could you even tell what was the watermark (assuming it's an audio watermark)?

     

    Works both ways I guess. Regardless, no one with a promo has identified any watermark AFTER the official release

     

    They can audio mark every single of 71 promos at the same places but with a different 1 sec long beep sounds ranging from 19230 hz to 19300 hz and who could say that something is wrong?

    The differences (nor the sound itself, in 99,9% of us) couldn't be heard...but if you know what and where to look at the sound could be identified by canceling it with a identical sound (dialing one by one of the 71) at the same freq and the same loudness but polarity inverted sound and it would disappear from a freq analyzer.

    Although AFAIK there's no such freq analyzer that can distinguish and display differences in sound in that small ranges (within few hz at high freq spectrum) it doesn't have to be that sophisticated at all. It only has to show that nothing's happening at that freq range at certain time mark, proving that the specific sound is identified by its cancellation.

     

    Couldn't this be possible? And what about other non-audio possibilities?

    The reason Sean gave for not putting out any live set soundboards for sale is because they didn't want to look like they were "milking it".

    I remember him saying that in the audio interview done around Quaristice period.

    I also remember him saying that but I would believe that is THE main reason IF they would provide the recordings by themselves as free dw later....2-3 yrs later would be just fine with me.

    There's a million producers out there that just show off with a 'million events per second' music but nothing stands behind their music, no soul - no brain, nothing...and it's forgettable. High tech, high pro but forgettable.

    I downloaded pretty much every release i was unaware of in the watmm top releases of 2012 thread because i've been very much out of the loop recently and not really to my surprise (with a few huge exceptions) most of it seemed heavily (and successfully) marketed but mostly average and forgettable.

     

    Hah, i did the same thing and feel the same way. That's the reason I began to make music...not that my music is any good as Ae but I'm listening them cause thy can do it better (for now :-p). Oversteps is not on my Top 3 Ae list but they were honest whit it, didn't try to amaze us and i respect that.

    Ae is one of a few that differs. I can hear THEM, a thou them everything else, visible and invisible...cause their music is veracious. This is the only thing that matters to me and I know they'll deliver.

    So I don't expect any particular sound palette or style from Exai. For me it's enough it exist.

    Is anyone else waiting for the physical copy of the record to listen to it ?

    I mean no leak, no 30 sec preview, no digital download, nothing at all !

     

    At this moment I have to many other situations where postponement of pleasure is required...so no.

    No way! Not me, not for him!

    But it's not for him. It's for me, Bubba... :)
