  1. yeah i mean the price is jumping up but i doubt it's making too many people tons of loot. for the very reason that i now am not even interested in buying in at all, until it drops back down. prob most non-dummies out there feel the same. so good luck selling at this price. imo if you can manage it it'd be a smart move. of course it might shoot up higher but how realistically how high could it go? look at gambling. you have to go by odds and make smart moves to have any chance and even then your chance is just that, up to chance. this is the same thing. if you cashed out now and made a hefty profit thatd be smart even if it still went higher, because you have no way of knowing for sure that it will, your chances of selling now are lower than they were when the price was lower, you'd be making profit, and not holding out for the hope that it goes higher which could screw you if it crashes. im no wiz at finances but i think guaranteed profit is usually better than a chance at higher gains or losses. but the current 'profit' isn't guaranteed because you still need to find a buyer at these insane prices.

  2. i've wanted to get into bitcoin for months now but not bad enough to deal with all the bullshit hoops i'd have to jump through or give someone a hefty commission for taking the risk of selling some to me by paypal.

at one point i actually signed up for a dwolla account, and was going to jump through those hoops to make it happen, and right after i got the dwolla congress came down on them.

i was going to see if there was money to be made jumping back and forth between the various coins, mainly between lite and bitcoin.

for a while i even looked at buying one of those asics but my spidey sense told me that those things might not ever break even since by the time you get one so will thousands and thousands of other ppl, all plugging theirs in at the same time, and lowering the returns. any of the calculators online that calculate how long it would take to get your money back from an asic don't seem to take that into account, and still show that it'd take at least a couple months to break even, and that's only with the most expensive ones (several thousand $ models). anything cheaper takes many months, and if those calcs aren't factoring in the rising difficulty (which could only be an estimate anyway), it's really probably never.

it just seems like too much of a huge pain in the ass to get into bitcoin. i dont want to meet some guy somewhere. i hate guys. i just want to use bitcoin to try to make money even if that supposedly goes against the whole spirit of the currency, which i dont care about (and i think is bullshit when ppl say that because prob the guy who made the thing has tons of coins sitting somewhere and made the whole thing just to get mad rich), because im a greedy capitalist pig, dammit!

TLDR wats the easiest way to get into bitcoin without me having to meet some dude in a fedora somewhere

  3. people are talking,

they're saying it's amazing how you guys can keep up with all these questions

    ppl are saying that

    you are like machines

are the questions really being answered by ae max patches that became so advanced that they captured your true essences, became self aware, and took over your computers? or maybe you plugged them into the ama to test them out?

  4.

related to your reply to i believe it was awe's question about the NSA to which you said it (spying) was a necessary phase-

so in the nearish future when brain implants, ...etc.... able to compose tracks with our thoughts like raymond scott wanted to do?

    nah

i don't know why everyone is focusing so much on the nsa

everyone's at it, all spying on each other

it's not like some nice neat pyramid, it's like a web

in the future we're gonna be so much more networked than this, even the concept of monitoring will be totally antiquated

what do you think of this quote by raymond scott

    • "Perhaps within the next hundred years, science will perfect a process of thought transference from composer to listener. The composer will sit alone on the concert stage and merely 'think' his idealized conception of his music. Instead of recordings of actual music sound, recordings will carry the brainwaves of the composer directly to the mind of the listener." —Raymond Scott, 1949

heh yeah, to be honest this was really what i was trying to get at with my question. i mean, the nsa stuff interests me but i was kind of joking with that part of the question. i was really more interested in just knowing how AE view potential future advances in things like interfacing with computers in new ways and if/how willing they would be to adopt some of these things that supposedly are going to be common but still seem kind of extreme to lots of people now, such as brain implants.

  5. related to your reply to i believe it was awe's question about the NSA to which you said it (spying) was a necessary phase-

so in the nearish future when brain implants, chips that allow you to connect your brain directly to your computer are available, will either/both of you say 'damn the torpedoes' (in this case the torpedoes being the american gov and possibly other govs recording every thought you have in a secret facility somewhere, and organizing all the data into various cross-referenced, instantly searchable databases, to be used in who knows what ways), and go ahead and get one so you can control your max patches directly with your brain waves? assuming you don't already. is that what you meant by saying the NSA stuff is part of a necessary phase? that all of this is inevitable, that all of our brains are going to be under direct monitoring by gov/commercial entities but that we have to accept that if we want the cool shit like robot servants that bring us our tea when we think about tea, or being able to compose tracks with our thoughts like raymond scott wanted to do?

  6. Thing I didn't get was

    " the pigs sick I don't know what's wrong"

Hershal is a vet.... Ask him

thats why you cant put like any thought into the logic behind this show at all. hershal is a vet but nobody bothered to ask him what is wrong with their food supply. then his daughter (who was suicidal not TOO long ago) loses a boyfriend type thing to roof zombies, and hershal doesn't give a fuck enough to check on her and see if she's OK. instead it's daryl. and look at the guy, he can't come to grips with his own feelings. daryl trying to comfort someone else or see if they are OK is like Data trying to laugh. its frickin awkward and clumsy. don't send him in there. dad needs to be a dad and check on his god damned daughter! or at least sexy older cowgirl sis, you'd think she might give a fuck!? no? nobody? so yeah i think they are setting something up with the blonde girl...

i'm glad they killed young woody allen off in the same episode as they introduced him because i don't like any aged woody allen. but if they get an idea to kill daryl off, i'm done. i was totally sober watching this and that was way too sober. if daryl is gone i dont think they make booze strong enough for me to enjoy this anymore (and its the only show i watch), except maybe if i just started rooting for everyone to get eaten.

  7. guys the best way to listen to the chre is while youre jacked into cyberspace, melting ice with a 10yr old deck

you guys just dont even know that do you

also you should try listening to it sideways

think about a math equation, then dont think about it

the track titles only reveal themselves if you make autism beats yourself or if you load the titles into an octatrack and unremix them to see what they mean

sean and rob have mindmelded so that if one of them dies the other can ressurect or find his naked body on genesis

  8. errr 6 days ago my aunt killed herself. And I just can't imagine what was so painful. I hate mysteries. They just pick away at me. ......

fwp: I'm too lazy to do anything today. I've got a fresh new analog synth and a newly-learned-how-to-use MPC4000 staring at me accusingly all like "and the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon..."

sorry to hear about the aunt and etc limpy. i know how you feel about mysteries. i've dwelt on some shit for years, if not over a decade..

  9. regardless of what i said about daryl i agree with lots of the sentiment about the show being kind of shitty. there are tons of things to nitpick about the writing, even besides the long drawn out plots that really go nowhere. such as why they are never concerned about getting zombie juice in their gaping mouths or eyes when they stab one of those over-ripened walking bloodsacks in the face up close and personal. and if everyone is infected already anyway, how does being bit suddenly turn you into one? what, now you're double fucking infected? already being infected doesn't make you turn, zombie blood in your face doesn't, being bitten does. it's just whatever is convenient to the story with no logic. list goes on and on. i still like daryl and i still think it has its moments. especially when i'm tanked (piss drunk) while watching. i don't see a spin off being successful. i think they should just be more experimental with the original show.

also i think nitpicking the flaws with friends/family is part of the fun of this kind of show.

  10. i've been hoping since season 2 that they would send daryl, who around that point became my favorite character and who i think has developed the most and became possibly the most valuable member of the group by the end of season 3, off on his own. i think it would be cool if at least for one season they would kind of split it into two separate shows. the group dynamic forces them to play it safe, try to find shelter, a place to settle down etc. and that's just going to be hard to make exciting. there will obviously always have to be something that ruins wherever they settle down for them, some kind of conflict that forces them to move on, and that will get tired as shit. send daryl on his own so there can also be a 'lone wolf' scenario, and you can watch him go on adventures being a badass. trying to find if there is anything bigger out there worth finding and being a part of. that whole cliched thing. but it could be like two shows in one, jumping back and forth between his solo adventures and the group. i really got my hopes up in season 3 that that was what was going to happen with him and merle, but alas it did not pan out that way.

  11. im sorry but if there was a battle between 20 somethings and 30 somethings, 30somethings would win.

30 is when anyone actually smart finally realizes that they DON'T know everything or even much of anything, and are actually just an idiot. in other words, its when you finally learn thing #1.

i may or may not actually agree with anything i just said. chances are i'm just shitposting in keiths thread.

  12. i'm sick and my nasal passage is all stuffed up and i hate that shit

plus when i get sick its hard for me to breathe when that happens because if my throat swells just a bit, that airway always gets really tiny, and i think my tonsils or uvula or something get in the way (stupid fucking JERKS) and so last night i got like no sleep. my eyeballs feel like they are on fire and i'm slightly delirious so that's kinda cool tho.

obv it's not as bad as some medical issues others have had in the thread, it's a small thing really. aside from possible brain damage i accumulate as i lie there asleep and not breathing. frickin stupid ass mucous membranes! what good are they?! i'm about to pull them out with a sterilized coat hanger. AAARRRGGG not being able to breathe is like my number one pet peeve.

  13. i love this album. i probably like it better than saw (either one),

and, i cant really compare directly between the 3 but it's tied for my favorite thing of his with RDJ, and druqks, with saw 1 very close behind those. i guess it depends what mood i'm in.

but i love the dark vibe of this album.

i'd prob have to say that the vibe of it is my favorite of all his albums. it's like home for me. this album is where i live.

especially portreath harbor (even if it is a bonus track). that eery alien desolate, slightly ominous, possibly prehistoric, almost tribal sound...

i can imagine a bunch of cave men and cave ladies doing strange dances around fires to that, surrounded by rocky crags and desert wastes, under chill as fuck moonlit skies. idm cave-people (look im trying to be PC) possibly on the influence of some funky tree bark or rock molds that they licked and which made them freak out. alien cave dudes (with big femur bones in their hands) dancing in slow motion, on a cold, mostly barren, foreboding alien planet.

but they survive and do open fire raves under the stars

  14. i was pretty high on weed the other day, and listened to some idm and it sounded pretty much the same

and btw triachus why don't you go listen to a IDM or two and chill out ya grammar nazi

and watkins maybe you wouldn't have this problem if you didn't let your habits be so easily dictated by trends/others

maybe if you actually found things you really enjoy instead of just partaking in things because you want to appear human, then you actually might end up fooling someone into thinking you really are a human instead of an internet troll
