End of Watch - Quite a good film that seems to follow LAPD partners around as one of them is filming for a "project". Not sure why other gangs are filming, and there's loads of shots which couldn't be the people in the film behind the camera.
So not really sure of the point of making it seem filmed by some people in the film, but good anyhow.

Watching Rock Profile again, just cause I can't think of anything to watch on Netflix and I have a shit-tonne of DVDs gathering dust.

It does get much better imo, but then I wasn't jsut expecting another Breaking Bad, maybe some people were.

Was going to post the leg of lamb I did for Sunday roast but can't now I've seen Stephen's, I feel like such a waste. This is your fault Stephen with your tasty meat.
I'm drinking Hobgoblin by the way.

I've been recommended The Night Manager but haven't yet watched, may give it a go. I watched S04E12 of House of Cards this morning. Excellent, it's got a lot of potential to go off on a number of tangents, can't wait for the last one!

I want to help name a ship RSS Boaty McBoatface but the site's been down all day!

Franz Kafka - The Trial
Only just getting into it but enjoying it so far. Didn't realise you could ever be under arrest but go about your daily business at the same time?
I started reading it but gave up on it after (spoiler) I don't remember well but I think the main character had a weird convo with a woman at some point and gave her a kiss or something? I don't know, but the point is, up until that point the novel had been about a normal, regular relatable guy in a crazy situation. But at the point where he also started acting completely ilogically I was like "so that's what it's gonna be huh" and immediately stopped, I had a really strong reaction against that. Will pick it up again soon though
A hundred or so pages into Infinite Jest and I must say it may be hard to follow, but not hard to read. It seems like disconnected vignettes so far but they all make sense within the universe and the vignettes themselves are fairly straightforward so far. It's not like Gravity's Rainbow which reads like a dream fever and makes no fuckin sense
I was just past that point on my original post, I did find it weird and will probably struggle if that keeps happening, but as it's a "classic" I'll keep going for now.

Definitely go for the job, if all goes bad then you have the perfect opportunity to tell him what you feel about the situation.
Shit in his desk

lol @ Usagi's shart wisdom. There's a man who's been around the block a few times.
FWS: landed myself a funded PhD in law/legal theory/ Foucault-y stuff which basically has me covered, money and lifestyle-wise, for the next 3 years. It's a big step up from the shitty bar work I've been doing for the last year or so, I'm chuffed to bits. I don't spend a huge amount of money in the normal run of things so I'll be able to live fairly comfortably, pay the rent, and put a wee bit away for future times. I'm fairly academic by nature so it's pretty much a dream position for me right now, well pleased.
Congrats Sumbitches!!!

And there was me thinking the reason for this gif was that as soon as he put the bottle of water down some swine swipes it from off camera.re Boiler Room gif, let's not overlook the guy in the middle blatantly copping a brush-feel from the girl in the grey coat as he withdraws his arm

I can't turn my head left or right without some considerable pain. First noticed it last night at a curry house, woke up early this morning thinking I was paralysed (only for a few seconds but it fucking hurt yo), and now as I sit on the computer I have to turn my whole desk chair to the side to pick up my beer which is on a small coffee-like table instead of just looking left and reaching for it.

I'm going to give Peaky Blinders another go after giving it up previous, thanks boredom.
I've been told it's awesome so I'll try again.

I actually had to watch it in pieces because of how cringe-worthy that was... I don't want to live on this planet anymore
Also just realized the riff is very similar to Blondie's "Heart of Glass".
TBH the thing bugging me most, after all the more horrifying obvious shit, is that there's only 3 of them and it makes the whole thing so asymmetrical.
Probably due to the fact that there are only 3 people on this planet willing to do that.

I've never read any of Patterson's stuff but it's shameful the amount of books he releases with his name on them, and I blame him and Dan Brown for the growing trend of a chapter being a page and a half long, it's pathetic. Sorry.
I dunno, I sort of like the small chapters, allowing me to stop within a couple of minutes notice (couldn't ever put a book down mid-chapter), but I'm so used to it now. Going on to most other books will make a chapter seem like War & Piece.
I will definitely give him a rest after this one, just not sure what to try next????

The 5th Horseman - Patterson.
Keep meaning to read something other than Patterson but here we go again. Can't seem to leave a series once started.
What are you consuming right now?
