  1. this thread has totally informed me about the inner machinations of dubstep! big cheers to kaini for the tracks. hey, anyone got martyn's "all i have is memories" and wants to upload? love that track on his myspace but can't find it anywhere. evertime i DL it from soulseek i get suburbia instead (great track itself.)

  2. i quite dig this track, there are very subtle changes which are interesting amid the repitition. i'm a big fan of ambient and microsound stuff, so this is cool for me, and it's by far the most minimal, ambient track autechre have ever released. i look at this whole quadrange release as a bit of an experiment, what with all the versions and the way it was released. and this final track is the culmunation of the experiment.

also, makes nice reading music! :-)

  4. Woah, that's good to hear. I can never find Ten Types of Elsewhere or the Secular Musics albums anywhere. Would you wanna share?

telikan, i sent you a PM about those mark fell releases.

oh, did you know that line is releasing a mark fell DVD this summer? can't wait for that.

  5. good to listen to samples of every track at that juno site. *drools*

some tracks sound like mark fell's recent remixes and tracks on 12k/line, way faster/cut-up than usual snd. similar to his secular musics..... project.

other tracks sound like the most sublime snd material i've ever heard!!

  6. I've been listening to quaristice solidly since getting the FLACs last month, and i'm pretty familiar with it now and starting to appreciate it a lot. defo not my fave album, draft and confield just hit the mark for me. but it totally demonstrates the other side of autechre: loose, live , improvised compared to the meticulously sculpted work on preceeding albums.

plus, on the run-up to quaristice, lots of people here said how they'd like ae to release a live cd, well this is kinda it in a way.

  7. One more thing I'm surprised that no-one else has mentioned: the vinyl sleeve has artwork on the inside! This is the only record I've ever seen that does this (besides a number of records I have that just have some colour printed on the inside).

the keynell remixes record has loads of graphics on the inside of the cover too. if you peer right to the back on the inside of the spine, it says "if youre reading this you are a sad trainspotter"...ACE!

reading this thread again has made me want to go home and listen to nuane at a ridculously loud volume.

  8. why do the japanese always get treated to extra tracks with autechre? it's sooo unfair!!

it's not just autechre, nearly every album that's licenced from a foreign label has a bonus track. i think it's to make it seem worth the price maybe. anyway, it's ok by me.

  9. hmmm, interesting. guess it's only one bonus track, hmv mentioned 2. the only difference i can se in the cover design is the absence of the white square with the barcode. but that's a good thing imho.

  10. And yo is there anyway we can get the Jap edition?

i'm in japan, and i'll either be ordering quaristice from hmv or buying it from the local record store. dunno how to get the japanese edition outside japan, but there are probably some places specializing in imports. i'd be happy to upload wave files of the bonus tracks for anyone interested.
