  1. so, both of these windows are pretty small, but the actual chat i find to be to cluttered for its size. if it were more simplified (like the initial "Rooms" window to the right) it would be so much more straight forward. it's also kind of silly to open the chatmm dialog, then have to click on the chatmm room. i mean, if there's only one room, just make it one window, right? just make it less clicks and less formatting options taking up the limited real estate. basically, if i could just click on the dark gray CHATMM box at the bottom right of the screen and it just pulled up the chatroom, i think more people would use it. uploaded pic to show what i see, in case my old (OLD, OLD) computer is translating this badly or something.

also, someone else just said something and i can't even read the whole message~! ALSO, i wanna hit ENTER to send message. ?

  2. dang, that last post is gonna be tuff 2 follow!

so, i've mostly published ambient under the name Ourson for the past 15 years, but only recently have i begun to post my beat work. i'm sure some old school watmmers will remember the Plantre moniker.. here are two very recent pieces i'm quite proud of:

also on soundcloud and if you're still listening, i run the Earstroke net label. (free electronic music since 2005~! Wisp, Milieu, Skytree, Beak, Ghosthunt, all kinds of old watmmers & more~!)

    thx~!

  3. just make it bigger. it's too cramped. all of the text formatting options take up a 1/4th of the window. i really think that's the only thing wrong with it.

i do miss the old chatmm, even though i'm just a lurker

edit: smoke em' if ya got em'

  4. yeah, when are you going to illustrate some awesome ethereal Calvin and Hobbes-esque graphic novel? i'd pay to have something like that.

here's another eye, not sure how many i should post, they are all kind of similar... but i'm trying to finish one a day this month so i can have something to show for the month of December besides a few empty tequila bottles and two clogged pipes.

  5. K, i feel you.

i may have lost the woman i want to spend the rest of my life with. things are very shaky and up in the air right now. we are no longer seeing eachother. it is taking indescribable tolls on me, emotionally. today, i just collapsed under the weight of it all. everything hit me at once. the startling realization that i might not be able to climb my way out of this one this time. if i lose her, i'll very much lose a part of myself that i won't be able to recover..

on the upside, this alone time has given me an opportunity to know myself in ways i had forgotten since i was a child. i feel like i'm picking up pieces of myself i dropped when i was a kid, putting them back in their place. it is fulfilling, and keeps me interested and excited by life. it is only in this manner of self discipline and betterment do i have a thread of a chance of getting back with this woman for whom i would lay my own life before if needed. i've never felt so much conviction and strength in my entire life, and it all came from a place of deep pain. the trick is to be as awake as possible, to look at the situation clearly, on a day to day basis. every day has tested me further, and it can be fun, if you make it fun.

we are all on a path, spend your thoughts like money; carefully and toward what you want out of life.

  6. Is that shot in infrared, or is it just colour processing?

i tweaked the colors a little.

    lushful luke

you managed to make a very familiar type scene into something magical and previously unknown to mine eyes. lush

those are great luke! like Salv says, its like ive never seen it before. even though i would see that every day where i used to live.

    thank you.

  7.

You can tell when you are watching a Kubrick or Hitchcock film but not in the same way as Anderson at times, where his style seems to dictate story, while for Stanley/Alfred the story dictates the story and the style amplifies the story. Lynch even does this too in a more meaningful way because his personality is always beneath the surface of the frame more than colorfully up front.

that is a great observation that i agree with, but it's only telling of their characteristics and i don't think of Wes any differently than my love for Kubrick, Hitchcock or Lynch or anyone else.

  8. yes, Wes Anderson films do indeed feel more like a play than films. Moonrise was the first of his films that i actually felt connected to, which makes me want to explore his other movies again with a different point of view.

    "

Yeah Moonrise ultimately lacked subtle and grey areas for it to be memorable.

i straight up don't agree with this ! let me clarify... i agree that it lacked subtlety, because it does... but that's exactly why it was a memorable film. i don't consider myself to be any kind of a film critic, it's just about what moves you and what doesn't.

it's about where you are in life. Moonrise Kingdom happened to fall into place for me at the right time.

  9. Moonrise Kingdom was just too overly cutesy poo for my tastes ( the kid got struck by lightning LOL harvey keitel dressed as a scout master LOL, the little girl listens to francoise hardy in 1965 on a portable record player LOL that is sooooooo awesome blah blah ) , basically the cinematic equivalent of an internet meme etc etc ...........you get the picture and yes i do like total bullshit

well.... none of that bothered me...? it's all about where you are in life. i was more honed in on the romantic and nostalgic aspects of it. i was totally immersed, hook, line and sinker. i'm going through some complex romantic issues right now, and Moonrise Kingdom kind of swept me away connected to me on a personal level. but i also liked all of the aesthetics of the film as well. i give it a 10 out of 10 for sure, and i'm really picky.

UHF is good. it's not amazing, but it's fun. also, Michael Richards as a janitor is good in and of itself.
