yeah, i thought of that!

 

computers in general use "two's compliment" for internal binary math, meaning all 1's (1111...) is a negative number, -1. the most nevative number in your average 32 bit computer is -2,147,483,648 (a zero followed by 31 ones).

 

the flip side, 32 bit int max, 2,147,483,647, would be a 1 followed by all zeroes!! not the binary high score at all...

 

0 followed by 31 ones == -2,147,483,647

1 followed by 31 zeroes == 2,147,483,647

32 ones (max straight-up binary) == -1

 

is this why tom prefers analogue?

analogue might be better here because when you get the highest score of all time

in the digital world.... things just tend to crash...no rewards!
