Guest dugbert Posted January 30, 2006 Share Posted January 30, 2006 i sure as hell am not going to pay $50 for one of these. anyone ever tried this? it seems really simple i wonder if i could pick female 5-pin pieces for the cables at a local electronic shop? i hope that sort of thing is fairly common. i don't know a lot about electronics, but i recall that in MIDI cables only 3 of the 5 pins are used. it seems like it would be really easy to just split the signal from one input to 4-5 outputs. i don't know what else i need to do. perhaps add a few more components keep the signal strong for each output let's hear some ideas Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There could be other possibilities. my purpose is to control 5 devices with my my computer (which has an midi IN/OUT interface) only 1 of the external devices has a midi THRU port, so I can't chain them all together, or controll them all at the same time with my computer unless I have this splitter box.
